I finally fixed the issue on cel with Custom DP. Terry's O2 simulator will fix it.
My o2 sensor throw cel because i dont have cat on my dp. Yesterday i drove all the way to Terry's Home to get the o2 sensor custom simululator. He installed for me. We test drive my car to see any repeating o2 sensor cel related. There is no cel throw by the o2 sensor. i m very happy. I also notice that my gas mileage goes up. Terry is very friendly guy. Too bad i wish he have more hair because he look like matt. lol. i asked him to help me update the vishnu firmware for me. He said i dont want to deal with vishnu stuffs. I totally agree with him because they have been too many fireware update and map update. Dont get me wrong folks, im still Vishnu Fans because they make the most power. Juice box is very good too. however, they make a little bit less power than vishnu. He said since you are a cool guy im going to help you out, but i dont like it. I think it work now. NO Terry did not use vishnu data to enhance his juice box. Personally in my opinion, Terry does not care much for vishnu stuffs. Terry have his client to take care of. If Terry have release his juice box first, i would buy his stuffs because of the low cost of the juice box over vishnu procede. We use his laptop to observe boost level on vishnu 2.0.2 with speed limited map. It does not stay at the level at high rpm. It switches from 14 psi to 10 psi and back .. I dont know if this is a good thing. Normally, boost level should stay the same at high rpm, but not with vishnu v2.0.2.
People who are planning to install custom dp, i suggest to contact Terry for his custom o2 Simulator. it cost ya 100 dollars. it look very easy to install. Dont go to any performance shop beside terry because they will tell you something else to fix it and they will charge u big time. I happen to me. i dont want anyone on here to get overcharge. Here is a quick question for shiv why the boost level switching so many time. should it stay at the 13 to 14 psi at high rpm? on the firmware information. it said 1.03. is that the new fireware that u released to fix limp mode on v2.0.2 ? I know this is a repost. im sorry.. This thread moved from General Automotive (non-BMW) Talk + Photos/Videos to Force induction. |

Hi Johnny, glad the car is working well now! For the boost it seems to target higher or lower values (between 10-15psi) depending on how I got on the gas. I'm sure these guys can help you fix that.
Thanks again, T |

The boost drop at higher RPMS is a safety feature to keep your tiny turbos on the safety limit. The Dinan flash does the same.

I do not have the Dinan flash but i've read it on their website:
Dinan Engine Software for BMW 335 and 535 Models - Now Available! Dinan, North America’s BMW tuner, is pleased to announce the introduction of the anxiously awaited Performance Engine Software for all BMW 335 and 535 models, including the "xi" variants. And as always, Dinan matches the new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles, including the possibility of consequential damages*. No one offers better performance or backs it up with such comprehensive warranty coverage. The Dinan Performance Engine Software safely increases turbo-boost pressure from the stock 8.8 to 13.2 psi, along with properly retuned fuel mixtures, ignition timing and full map rescaling. In fact, over 2000 engine management functions have been recalibrated, offering substantial increases in power output while maintaining the civility and reliability expected of a Dinan performance product. Some examples include: Remapped Water Pump Speeds. In an effort to more effectively control oil and water temperatures, which have been notably excessive even at stock boost pressures, the Dinan software actually increases water pump speeds as boost pressure increases. A much larger, more efficiently ducted oil cooler has also been developed, further improving heat exchange for lower and more consistent operating temperatures, even with the added boost pressure. Boost Pressure Control. Increased boost pressure exceeds the turbochargers’ design limitations at higher rpm, potentially shortening their lifespan. Dinan addresses this issue by tapering the boost gradually at higher engine speeds. This approach also addresses the fact that with increased boost at higher rpm the turbocharger temperatures would exceed the intercooler’s ability to cool the intake charge, resulting in a loss of power and compromising the long-term durability of the engine. The tapered boost keeps temperatures within the design limitations so as to optimize output and ensure engine reliability with the added boost pressure. Top Speed Governor Removed. With Dinan’s software, the 535 and 335 will be capable of achieving their natural top speed as the governor has been removed. The results of Dinan’s tuning are nothing short of breathtaking, with the added boost and related recalibration producing maximum output of 384 horsepower at 5700 rpm and 421 lb-ft torque at 4300 rpm. All of this additional power is available from Dinan’s software alone, which is easily downloaded by your Authorized Dinan Dealer in about an hour for 2007 models (2008 model year vehicles require that the ECU is removed and shipped to Dinan for installation of the software at this time).
