N55 335xi automatic performance radiator.

Does anyone know if there are any options for an automatic 335xi n55 performance radiator?

The only option I seem to find is to buy an aux transmission cooler and upgrade the radiator to a performance one that states "Manual only".

I was looking to see what is different about the radiators on the manual and automatic but I was unable to find a decent drawing or picture. Does anyone have details on that?

Thanks,
Cburn

Autos have a transmission fluid cooler that taps into the radiator. It's the metal block toward the bottom right behind the radiator. It uses radiator fluid to moderate transmission fluid temp. I think the difference between manual and auto radiators is that the manual one has no fittings for the hoses to the tranny cooler.

What worries me is will a small aux tranny cooler be enough? I'd hate to upgrade the radiator and throw a small aux cooler on the tranny and find out I have a cool engine but my transmission is constantly overheating.

I wonder how hard it would be to mod a performance radiator to allow the same connections as the stock automatic. I can tig weld aluminum but I don't have any idea if it's even possible.

A few people have tried it, but no one has really posted results. And user 135Pats was going to do it, but a reputable shop told him not to since there were issues with fluid pressure dropping after the install. Just pull a search for transmission cooler, there are a lot of threads.
