Will non Adaptive suspension make car more prone to bent wheels?

A co worker of mine fell in love with my M3 and now wants one. His dealer found limited cars in the color he desires and none of the cars have the Adaptive M suspension like I have. He asked me earlier if i thought the tight standard suspension would make the car more easily prone to rim damage from the NYC commute he takes daily versus the Adaptive in my car.

is there any solid theory to support this? or can some of you M experts chime in i can say from some cars i have owned with horrible suspensions such as my SL55 and old Jaguar XKR i busted too many wheels to even be proud to admit but the M3 handles the bumps quite stout.

I highly doubt passive suspension does anything to make it more likely to bend wheels. I would say what kind of wheel, tire setup, speed, and the pothole have way more to do with bending wheels than suspension.

Don't buy cheap wheels and they probably won't bend.

Forgot to add this is regarding the 19 inch OEM wheels. He liked how my car rode in comfort mode and he drove a non adaptive car and said it was very tight and felt much harsher to drive everyday with no adj
