Couple of V2 questions - post install
Here is how I did it.....updated the firmware and loaded the newest map (i have a 535i, fyi). Set the torque values at 94% across the board. Got out this morning for my first real drive since the install (and since I got the vacuum lines back to stock). The power seems to be more prevalent across all rpm's vs. down low. I believe that I read somewhere that I needed to run it at 90% for a few miles and let the ECU learn V2. Am I correct in that? If so, do I just bump it all back to 90% and go from there or do I need to reset the ECU somehow (im mobile right now and disconnecting the battery isnt an option).
Once it does "learn" it, what settings work best for that lower end torquey feel? |

I did the same way like you and i was seeing a boost spiking gauge.Try to make it 90% and make some miles then step 2% .Thats what we all should do.

Your not supposed to do any changes until you have driven 50 miles. Wow for such an expensive car, people dont read!
Once you have driven 50 miles, then you can make changes, and dont just jump to 94% , you could inadvertantly be pushing 18 lbs of boost for all you know. At default settings, my car is already at 15 psi. I recommend you reload the 2.0.3 map, which will get you back to default. Disconnect your battery for one hour (once you stopped being mobile), then drive the car for 50 miles. Then you can start messing with your torque settings, if you properly monitor the boost levels using a laptop. Only then can you bump up the settings if required.

Yeah, you start datalogging, then you check what your max boost is in 3rd and 4th gear after the vehicle is properly warmed up (being several hard pulls through 2nd to 4th gear), at that point you need to check what the max boost is, if its less than 15lbs, then you can start bumping up until you hit 15 psi, max boost in 3rd gear, at WOT. Easiest way to do it is start a datalog, do you runs, then stop the datalog, and check the datalog, you can see in the graph what the maximum obtained boost level is.
Like I said, for all you know, you can be pushing 18 lbs and not even realize it right now, every car is different, and alot of variables come into play as well.

Sorry, don't know about the 535 but on the 335 it's in the trunk on the right hand side as you're looking forward (passenger side) below a black tray. We have a knob on top that turns, then the whole thing pulls out....pull down from the top first, then simply pull the whole thing out. Good luck!

In the 335 it's a small tray tucked away in the back right corner....just behind the tail light.

Battery is right side on 535i as well (passenger side) in the trunk. Just turn the knob on the right side of the trim panel and slip it off. It's located on the upper part of the trim above the tray. It's one big piece. You'll see the battery down below once you remove the trim panel. There's a screw holding holding down the negative terminal connector. It's 12 or 15mm ratchet you'll need. Loosen it up and then you'll be able to disconnect the battery.

Gently pull from the top. If you try and slide it out, it won't move.
