KW V1 or V2

I used to have the ST Coilovers on my 335i and I really enjoyed them, but I have bought a new M235i and so my question is:

If I am just looking to lower my car and have a more stiff ride, is the KW V1 the way to go or should I go with the V2's?

Also, will I get warning lights if I don't have the EDC option? Is the EDC option worth the money?

What exactly does the EDC do? I have my assumptions, but I'm not 100% on it.

Any info or links would be great.

If you're looking to only lower and get a stiffer ride, V1 will be enough. Only thing v2 have is adjustable stiffness.

EDC is electric dampening control where you can switch between eco, comfortable, and sport mode. This control can change the dampening on your suspension. You can see my install thread here (http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1009346) but I've heard from F30 people that EDC will throw an error when replacing suspension if they do not have EDC delete. Basically what you purchase from KW with the EDC bundle is the EDC delete dongle. With this, it will nto cause an error but at same time, you can't adjust the stiffness of the suspension while in cabin.

You can't set the stiffness in the V1's right?

Your set up looks fantastic man. Absolutely gorgeous car. Do you have the wheel specs? I want to do the wheels and coil overs at the same time. Was thinking about going with a red wheel though. You're saying I need the dongle to keep from getting codes, but did you have to splice wires?

How stiff is the V1 compared to stock?

Get the V3's or billsteins so you can still have a functioning edc.

ST and KW V1's are the same exact thing. I think the KW's are stainless and the ST's aren't, that's the only difference. V2's just add adjustable dampening.

IMO you are taking a step backwards with KW's unless they are the V3's. Now if all you care about is dropping the car I guess they will be fine

EDIT: I just checked the KW's that work with the edc are called the ddc plug and play coilovers, not the V3's

I would't think much stiffer than sport. The ST's and V1's are set to the middle of the road when it comes to stiffness and you can't adjust it

Sorry to interrupt! With the KW V3 or Bilsteins your EDC is gone!

If you want still ride with the EDC in your 2series take this:

I was looking at this, but there's no prices or any way to order these. It seems a bit minimal with details.

I hope that works for you! If not just buy the kw edc cancellation kit. Otherwise your car will be permanently in comfort mode. Went through this with my TCKline racing coilovers installation.

Do they sell it separately on their website or is this something you have to order? How much did it cost for just the delete kit?

Interesting, does this mean that you are unable to adjust the throttle response?

I ordered the kw delete kit from www.baanvelgen.com
Cost was around 300 euros.

Yes, you will be unable to adjust throttle response, and more importantly unable to disable traction and stability controls.

If you have an adaptive car, and change to coilovers without the edc delete kit, you will get chassis error that locks your car in comfort mode. No sport, no sport plus, and no fully off mode.

Wait, are you saying this is if I get coil overs without the edc kit at all. I bought KW V2 with Edc so I should be good right?
