335 V2 vs Camaro SS, 350Z, TT G35

So I went out to a private road the other night and a did a few runs.

335i has PROcede V2, Cat-back

01 Camaro SS has Superchips Tune, 4.10 gears, MTi Lid, Random Tech Hi-flow cats (gutted), Random Tech Y-pipe, Hooker Street Force Cat-back

Third run here he pulled on me, my car got heat soaked after back to back runs. My temps reached 260. His car was cold.
Video: 335 vs Camaro SS

335 vs stock 07 350z - This was pretty much rape

335 vs Twin Turbo G35 (400-420whp+)
40mph roll - He pulled about 5-6 cars on me

I will have more videos up soon.

I thought you would've walked that Camaro. But then again you have an automatic, and you couldn't dump the rpms. Even if that was the case, you should've started at low mph roll outs and slammed him...

My 335 is still stock, thinking about doing an AA Reflash + Exhaust. but that is all. Waiting on my 2008 M3.

Not to go off-topic here, but what exactly is "heat soaked"? Is it simply higher temperatures?

Well, I remember recently on of the guys here was doing pulls agains an RS4 and in the begining he was pulling 3-4 cars on hin and by the end he was only pulling 1 car. So, its either heat soak, inefficient cooling system or PROcede detuning.

Not sure what you guys are talking about. 1 for 3?

The 335 and Camaro where pretty even, except the 3rd run where my car heat soaked/detuned.

I raped the 350z.

Then I got walked hard by the TT G35.

That was probably it. The turbos available for the G35/350z aren't tiny like ours

I'd say you did great.

In the races with the Camaro SS:

1st race, video shows the Camaro SS jumps you, but it also CLEARLY shows you reeling him in and pull a bit ahead.

2nd race again Camaro jumps and you clearly reel him in and pass.

3rd race, again, Camaro jumps you and then pulls (as you said most likely due to you being heat soaked).

Stock 350Z is no problem as you said, you killed him easily.

TT G35 Those are fast cars. I've seen TT 350Z's and they haul ass.
I doesn't surprise me you lost to them, and with 400+ rwhp from it, I can see why.

Not sure what Hotrod was talking about 0 for 3. That's way off accurate.

I'd say you won 2 out of the 3, since when your car was not heat soaked, you reeled in and creeped on the Camaro SS and will easily beat a stock 350Z (heck a stock 335i will creep on one).

Nice job.

That camaro was a beast.....Anyway, thank's for being honest with the video! People tend to hide their losses so...!

And another thing, how much torque was the G35 making?

Sadly, I think those comments were coming from tuner bias (not PROcede users).
I think those comments and their view as to the results would of clearly been more accurate and correct if you had the tune they had and were supporting.
But in all fairness and accuracy you would of needed a race gas map and been on race gas to get the same results on the tune they support.

I don't know why those tuner bias negative comments still need to be made though.

I don't mind the heat soak safety parameters either.
It's a good thing for our engines. You proved yourself in the first two runs with the Camaro SS anyway, even though he jumped you both times, you reeled him in and passed, which says more than pulling if you get the jump.

What boost levels are you running?

Who made the video anyway saying you had 360 rwhp and 370 rwtq??

Is that accurate? I guess if you are on 93 Octane and have settings high enough to give you 14.5+ psi boost, that would be right.

Heat soak is the term for a very hot engine, and more specifically a turbocharged engine (intake, intercooler, turbos, etc etc).

Turbocharged cars run much hotter than NA engines do for the most part.
Sadly, the N54 engine (engine in the 335i) runs extremely hot as it is.
With a tune on top of that, it runs even hotter.

As the commercial says, "heat is the enemy of engines" and power.

That's why on a cold day when your engine is just warming up, it feels much stronger than on a 105 degree day after driving a ton of miles.

The PROcede v2 has a "heat soak" safety point in it.
It will back the power off if/when the engine gets too hot.

It's kind of a love/hate thing.

It's great for safety and reliability of your engine, but bad for doing back to back to back wide open throttle races.
You need to let the car cool (not go full throttle just cruise) for a couple minutes after doing a couple runs.

I'm no expert on race gas either, but I believe running higher octane fuel helps as I believe it runs cooler than lower octane gas does.
Another reason cars get more power on race gas than on pump gas.
