Paint protection film on leased car

Does anyone know if BMW requires paint protection film to be removed before returning a leased car? I'm thinking of getting it on my new leased M3. I understand that some thing this is a waste of money, but to me, I'd like to enjoy a clean car for the time that I have it. However, I don't want to spend even more money at the end of the lease to remove the film.

It's a lease...don't waste any more money on the transaction. Just an opinion from someone who purchased an F80 and still not adding a protective film like Xpel.

I'm sure they'd love it if you left it on as a great selling feature. Even if you removed it they'd get a flawless font end regardless upon lease return. So either way winning for them. And no I don't think they require removal. Ask them.

The dealership I go to will remove clear bras on all lease return vehicles. They say the new customers don't want them.

I don't think they have you remove it since my finance guy sold it to me. I didn't do the whole front, just the hood and mirrors for $350. Probably will be a waste of money, but if I do decide to buy the car it will be worth it.

Plus, as others here, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to detailing so leasing or not, it might help my sanity. That is worth $350 to me.

they won't make you remove it but they may do it themselves so they can actually sell the new owner on clear film at the dealer.

They don't make you remove it or charge you any fee's. They actually remove all clear film so they can sell it again.

I have one because I'm still paying to drive a nice car and want to keep it nice.

I also wash my leased car....

There is always the possibility if it's a trouble free car I might buy it at the end.
I like the option of returning the car at the end of the lease if it is a nightmare.
