SO extended leather vs Speed cloth

Hi all,

I have an m4 on order with a MW/Speed cloth configuration. Lately I have been 2nd guessing myself regarding changing my order to MW/SO. My thought process is this:

SO interior:
+ : looks amazing, good leather feel
- : maintenance and longevity, I am fairly anal about my cars and creases in leather and potential cracking over 5-6 years of owning the car as well as baby abuse may push me over the edge.

Speed Cloth:
+: exclusivity, dakota leather bolsters are durable and easy to maintain. Grippy seats.
- : bland?

Any opinions or experiences from owners who have put some mileage on the leather?

thanks

jawwad

I saw Speed Cloth at the LA Auto Show on an m4 and it felt good but it did make the interior look a bit cheaper. Wouldnt say that bland. It wouldnt stop me from getting it. The SO looks better but its just not for me. The Dakota Leather bolsters is kinda what throws me off. Wish it was merino leather or alcantara. The speed cloth seemed to be wearing well and handled the abuse of people constantly getting in an out at the show.

Speed cloth is pretty sick when you see it in person. It think it goes well with the carbon trim interior.

I got speedcloth w CF trim and it looks really good. Its something different and the seats are very comfy.

I have full SO on my car, and it looks and feels great. The only downside is that dark color pants seem to leave a mark over time. Truth be told, if I had no choice and ended up with the Speed Cloth, I probably wouldn't regret not being able to get SO 'cause the car itself drives so amazingly.

Cloth is sporty and I REALLY considered it w/ CF. Decided on leather. I don't think its bland, it's just a different eco-system of sort. Its all preference!

i ended up switching to SO as I was told by several people that speed cloth itself is difficult to clean.. especially with kids

I don't mind the cloth, it looks kind of techy rather than cheap. But I like your decision, I've got SO/Black full leather and love it to death, as does everyone that sees it.
