question about tire/wheel for a daily driver ocassional auto x,drag, trackday

So I'm considering moving away from my staggered 19s W Mich PSS tires. I have an 07 e92 335i. The 19s look good but I'm looking to change it up and want to do some auto x this summer and maybe a trackday. Although I get a lot of racetrack action on 2 wheels every summer.

I'm finding some meaty 17 setups on e92s and am really digging the setups.
I got to looking at the Apex group buy for the 18s and am talking myself into trying some 17s w a big meaty sidewall. Tires are crazy cheap as a bonus. I'm just not sold on 18's.

I found this car and am wondering if there is any reason why I wouldn't or shouldn't go this direction?? I'm guessing this setup would be great for a daily w all that tire and will work fine for auto x as its very similar to the square setups guys are running of 17x9.5 et35 255/40.

I'm on stock sport suspension and the car has 23k miles.

Why shouldn't I switch to this setup from my 19s???

If you are ok with the look, just go ahead. With 17, you might lose a bit of steering feel due to bigger sidewall, but that depends on tires as well.

I picked up some 17x9 et30 ARC-8s from the group buy last year and couldn't be happier. I DD and Auto-x with them and if you like the look I would go for it.

Go for it!

I think this would be worth your while seeing if shipping would work out.

Guys thanks for the feedback. It's greatly appreciated. I'm going to put the 19s up for sale and most likely go to the 17s w meaty tires.

I will report back w my impressions once the change has been made.

Oh and I saw the set for sale tsm330 I appreciate that.

At this point I'm thinking I want to run the 9 front and 9.5 rear. Apex is west coast so shipping isn't much. The set you linked is just going to be more than new by the time I factor shipping. Thanks though.
