Newb UK Owner here

Hi Everyone

Been lingering a bit here, while trying to find the right 'nearly new' car.

I've finally found it and am delighted to have joined the Z4 fold.

It's a 6-month old 3.0si coupe in Stratus Grey.

I spent most of yesterday cleaning it properly - dealers never quite do it right, so thought I'd post a few pics. Enjoy.

(I didn't have time for the interior.....)

I was wondering about that and about the rims as well. Those aren't the rims you get on the sport coupes in the US anyway...

Nice to see another coupe around!

I live not far from Silverstone, and, for my sins, I work in the Motorsport industry.

Only if you order the Sport model. The SE gets the standard wheel. I must admit I don't know how the model structure works in the US, but we have the choice between the two here. Sport spec also gets stiffer suspension, the oh-so-comfy M-sport seats, and a few other niceties.

They're not standard on the UK spec Sport model either - they're on the options list.

So far, so good. I've come from a MKV Golf GTi with DSG, and as good a car as that is, this just feels....well, more special from the moment you get in and start it.

The gearchanges from the Steptronic aren't quite as rapid as the DSG, but there isn't much in it, and the Steptronic is much smoother.

Fuel economy (not that anyone buying a car like this should be too concerned about it) is on a par with the Golf as well, which is a pleasant bonus when V-Power is around 1.09 per litre....

Haha, I guess all the money I save on gas I can get an M steering wheel too ... I just wish it was an option, it looks nice!

Premium (92 octane) is $3.10 a gallon as of yesterday, just went down!

Well, as soon as it comes, it's got to go again....

The car is my wifes 'daily driver' and she has been having a lot of lower back pain in the last few weeks, and also feeling nauseous when she is a passenger (not due to my driving, I hasten to add).

So, as there are far more important things to consider than a lump of metal, we are trading in the Zed for an E90 330d M-Sport.

I will miss the Z4 for certain, but there are a lot worse cars we could be changing to.
