Black Chrome Exhaust Tips

Has anyone put these on their 228i non- M performance exhaust?

http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Can't seem to find any installed pictures of them!

Yep

Slapped a pair on my 228i M Sport right after waxing it the first day of ownership. (Also installed gloss black model badge and had stock rims powdercoated). Took 2 minutes with a rubber mallet; the stock tips just slide on and off.

Death to chrome!

Nope; same size, design, everything -- they're just black chrome instead of regular chrome. How else would they fit so easily?

Meh I was hoping it would be like some other screw on type tips that have some space and make the tips look bigger. OO well

Looking to replace the ugly chrome exhausts. Got a 228i with Msport. So there is no screw to hold the chrome tips on, just slide them off and put the black ones on with a rubber mallet. Sounds easy, plan to order 2.

BMW likes to say the black chrome tips don't work on the M Performance exhaust but they fit just fine as long as you make sure the tabs inside aren't bent up from having removed them. If they did get a little bent, just use some pliers and you can have them ready to go back on in 60 seconds.

Will the Carbon Fiber Exhaust Finishers work with these?

So much better than the M235 wheels, wish mine came with that. Mine's MG also, if I keep it past the fall will be getting those new BBS rims in gloss black based on your photo. Similar look, and I want to go down to 17".

That'll look smoooove.

A benefit of black wheels: they look larger and lighter than they really are. I think the 18s fill the wheel wells perfectly -- though 17s with 45-series rubber will probably look good, too.

I was kind of bummed that 2016 2 Series with the M Sport trim and up (including the M235) had the dark Orbit Grey wheel option. But even those aren't total black, hehe.

Orbit looks like shit on the MG IMO, have you seen it in person? Looks great on silver, white etc. Black like you have is much better.

Like the 18s but roads by me are so bad. Was driving dad's wagon (18s but a 45 tire like you said) and it was soooooo much better.

Not at all ... and they're pretty much a dead ringer design-wise for the OEM M Sport wheels. Nice ... (and BBS over Ronal -- the latter of which makes all 2 Series wheels except the M2s -- any day of the WEEK!)

The factory Gloss Black tips that are on the OEM muffler will fit the MPE?
I was looking at the BMS tips they had but it stated they do not fit the MPE..
