Took my f80 M3 19" wheels through the automated car wash today

Yes. I did! Deal with it!!!

Anyway, no damage at all to the 19" 437 M black wheels. My car is stock. No spacers, stock suspension, tires and wheels.

The rubber sticks out past the rims, so I did not anticipate any damage. But to be honest, I was still nervous. Anyway, I know I was very curious about this so I hope this helps someone out there, who may have had the same question.

Wheels are relatively cheap and easy to refinish a few hundred bucks.....its the damage to your paint job from those dirty rags in that wash that's going to be expensive to correct .....eeek..... Every time I see a new car with nice paint coming out of an automated car was

I've been doing this as well, whenever I don't have time to hand wash her. Never had an issue with this new automated wash that just got built. They seem to take good care of it and maintain it well. Plus, the guards on the sides of the track are rubber/plastic anyways, so I've never worried about damage. My Z had 11" wide wheels on the rear and 10" in the front, and I never had any issues with it.

Your not going to see actual damage. The damage hes referring to is swirl marks. Falafel Combo I thought you would be more concerned about the swirl marks that those machines leave lol

Naah .. swirl marks don't bother me. I was more concerned about curbing the rims.

M abuse is a serious thing we need commercials like the NFL put out on domestic violence to get people talking so we end this tragic behavior.

It is leased. But I'm an equal opportunity automated car-wash-thingy-doer! It's irrelevant really. I don't obsess over swirl marks, bird poop and brake dust. I have my own OCD ticks, but this ain't one of them. Its a daily driver for crying out loud!

I brought my first fancy new BMW to a brush car wash 3days after I bought it. I still feel that regret 3 cars later! Never again.
