Thoughts on 48-month lease deal
I saw that BMW FS updated their lease offers for the M3 this month - they are now offering a 48-month lease option.
For those that have leased an M3 in the past, is the 48-month option THAT common? OR, is BMW trying to get rid of their 2015 allotments? My dilemma is that I am waiting for the 2016 (but it might not be offered with a 48-month lease deal), however, the 2015 with a 48-month lease looks very attractive. Since I tend to break my lease every 24 months, the lower payments on a 48-month lease would be more attractive when I want to exit...alternatively, would it be easier to break a lease on a 2016 with the LCI changes? Any advice would be helpful! Also, what kind of discount should I expect? |

Just as an FYI there is also now 39 month and the never before seen 42 month lease. The 42 month lease will time nicely with the new M5 or M6.
Don't worry about 2016. All those longer lease terms will be available then too. |

As for waiting for the LCI - heard not big changes. Just tail lights. Since thats the only thing...don't think it will be any easier to break the lease. |

what is a good deal ?
You will need to see what % of discount the dealer is offering you, (dealer side + factory side), then you have to see what the interest rate is being offered and residual for the various term. Since you are leasing, it may be a good idea to look at the demo too, assuming the options in the demo is similar to what you would like. This way, you should save the freight/pdi to begin with. |

Edit: I was bored last week and decided to play around with the numbers on bmw.ca website for all combinations of lease terms and km/year and come up with some lease estimates for given residuals.
See screenshot below. Note: these are the M4 residuals for April 2015. Last edited by Ggeezer; 04-23-2015 at 12:29 PM.. Reason: spelling |

M3 residual for 12000kms/yr: 36 months = 53% 42 months = 49% 48 months = 45% |
