Hello all, just wondering if anyone has replaced the standard somewhat dim dome light bulbs in their 2 series? If so what bulbs did you use? Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure if 228xi are different but our dome lights are all LEDs and not replaceable. I took apart the dome cover and I believe I see just one LED chip attached.

Yes, I upgraded my Bimmer to LED inside completely last year! I got the complete LED package from Xtralight online and they work really good, the bulbs are 2-3 times brighter than the dim incandescent bulbs, check it out on their website.

Maybe you could provide a link showing products they have for the 2 series. I cannot find any available from them.

I upgraded mine through BMW (Italy) but the LED is excellent; brighter than the dim ones and the set comes with 2 bulbs or 4. I got the 4 bulbs. Just becareful replacing them because the domes are hard to take off and may potentially take off the entire assembly and lose the metal clips....I lost one but was a pain to locate in the roof.
