Wheel 230 Pt. II

What are the feelings on this wheel design? I like that it is not offered in the US, so is a little unique. Thanks.

It is available when you order the car. I think it's $1000 more MSRP. $900 invoice.

good old, 5-spoke star design, practical, but need some nice BBK or at least rotors to set them off.

I love the design and would like to get these wheels as my summer setup but it might be too costly. How much these wheels would run with RFT tires?

+1

The rims look great, but, you need to get better brakes to complete the look, oh, and a drop.

So, these $1,000 rims will end up costing you $2-3k

And, remember, you'll have to get a set of non run-flat tires.

it looks great. better than 162s(what i have now) or 189s. However, RFTs must be so expensive at that size. $900 invoice is good deal in my book

I checked tirerack for 19" RFT tires but they do not have any avalaible. I might consider getting these wheels from Tischer BMW for 1500 but how much would RFT tires cost? This might also be a noob question but would i need TPMS for these tires on my e90 sedan?

if your e90 is 325/330, then you don't need it. since they use different technology(ABS sensors) to measure tire pressure. I have 162s on my 325i now, when I replace those tires, I will take the TPMS out and sell it. they go for like 100 something cash in here.

Tirerack does have the OEM Bridgestone RE050A's to fit on the 230's. $315 for the fronts (225/35/19) and $344 for the rears (255/30/19).

Thanks! Tirerack won't list them unless you search for it. I read the reviews on that tires and they mention that they are very noisy.

I don't think I want wheels that are very noisy and give a harsh ride. Is this a common problem with most 19" wheels?

I am probably better of getting regular 19" tires with these wheels. Would you guys recommend a certain brand? And how would be the ride quality compared to 17" winter tires?

It's mostly a problem with the tires, not the wheels. The runflats have very stiff sidewalls which make the ride harsh. In general, when you go up in wheel size, you can expect a harsher ride. However, if you switch from 18" RFT to 19" non-RFTs, you might acutally find that the 19" rides better than the 18"

I am considering a type 230/non rft tire setup but would I have a fitment/rubbing issue with my non sport 330i? I don't plan on lowering the car or getting sport springs. I want to get a summer performance tire and most important thing for me is ride quality. What type of non rft tires would you guys suggest?

No, rubbing shouldn't be an issue. The only problem is your car might look lifted.
