Black Trunk Badge

I'm considering getting the gloss black M235i trunk badge from IND, I think it will look nice with the carbon fiber M Perf rear spoiler. My only hesitation is that it's basically $100 out the door for a small piece of painted plastic, seems a little ridiculous...

Does anyone have this installed? Or has anyone painted their badge themselves?

I've been considering the same thing but I can't bring myself to spend that much on such a small visual change... (It's even more expensive for me factoring in exchange rate and shipping to Canada)

No kidding. Don't forget HST & Duty...the emblem would probably wind up somewhere in the $150CAD range...crazy import fees

And at the same time I don't want to attempt a DIY and screw it up, then have to pay for it anyway.

I ordered mine from these guys. Still just plastic but much cheaper. I've had them on for about 2 years now and they look the same as when I put them on.

Went to their store and picked it up in Oshawa(or Whitby) as well to save on shipping!

Thought about it, but I had enough with less than (reasonably) perfect on my last cars with DIY mods. Especially if plasti dip is involved, so I bit the bullet and bought from IND.

Everybody who consider PlastiDip shouldn't be driving a BMW to begin with...

Exactly. The two do not go together

I mean there is plasti dip on my GTI right now, but I don't know if I want it on my brand new $50k car.

While I understand preference issues, statements like 'mrbimmer' (lol) above are rediculous... the thread mentioned that money was an issue, thus I suggested a less expensive alternative. While I respect your opinion, a $50k car is just not that expensive, the m235i has, imho, opened the BMW experience to a larger market. It is a great car and while I might not like the orange ones, I respect those who do to do what they want with their car. If it makes them happy, then great! I'm ecstatic every day with mine...
