M3 to E63 AMGs?

Hi all,

Just want to hear you guys out on this one.

I have my M3 since Dec 2015. Fully loaded. Manual. Benz is offering me a very good # for the trade to get into a new 2015 E63 AMGS. It works out to be about 1100 bucks per month for the M3. I think it's very reasonable!!

As the the E63 I get about 8% off MSRP with 0.15% lease.

I know this is a very subjective question. Would any one here do it?

I have the habit of trading in cars q6months. This is what I enjoy doing. I am having such a hard time this time around because the M3 is such an awesome machine.

If I do trade it in, I have a almost brand new set of BBS winter wheels on snows for sale

Let me know what you all think

Derek

If u are changing cars every 6 months, then its no brainer. Get into a e63 and then pose another situation in dec 2015

Btw, how does the dealer is quoting you on a 6 months lease? If this even exists at all.

I purchased my M3 because there's no lease or finance deal. As for the E63, it's a 39 month lease. Since the interest is negligible and with a decent discount, I am banking that I can get out fairly easily in 12 months or so.

I am posing this thread to feel if any current M3 owners would be happy with the E63 amg. FYI, I am a 35 year old family guy with 2 kids. If this would help with the decision making.

Cheers

I had a 13 m5 and test drove a 14 e63 last yr, performance wise, it's almost the same. The difference would be in steering and suspension. More direct steering feeback from the m5 but the e63 is better on suspension for daily drive as it is not as super stiff and hard as the m5.
What killed my interest in the e63 was the outdated interior finishes

Now comparing a m3/4 car to a e63 car, its not really a fair comparision as one is built for luxury perfornance while the other one is focused on the spotiness and with ability of being a very good track car.

You purchased and are now going to lease. Seems like you are taking a huge depreciation hit and moving to something in which you'll have no equity. I dunno.....not what I would do but....

I think purchasing works if you keep a car more than 3 years. Less than that and you are burning a lot of capital in depreciation.

I hear you. Depreciation in this case is justifiable as it only costs me about 1200 bucks a month for 6 months. Benz is offering me a great trade-in value for my M3, and there's a lot of lease support from Benz Canada. So this transaction is not as bad as it seems.

In the past, I would have done it in a heart beat, but man the M3 is so nice and sporty. But the E63 is equally tempting. I have 2 C63s in the past and the exhaust note itself is worth the price of admission!

I like 4-Matic too. Last year I got stuck twice trying to go into work early before the side street was cleared. With the AMG, that shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, your call man. I'm not a vehicle hopper (more stick with one for a while) - shortest I've ever owned a car is about 2 years and it was a total lemon.....

As for the car, E63 is very nice. I plan to get the wagon when we replace the current E350 wagon in a few years (about 2.5 years on it now), which is a great size for the family...but I'd also always want a smaller car like the M3.

Having been through E550 and 2013 S550, unless they changed the UI for navi etc and interior of the 2015 e63, I wouldn't even consider it.

Plus, going from manual to the MCT in the Merc is not the same as DCT in the BMW.

However, the traction in winter from the 4matic is a no brainer though I enjoy driving the rwd in winter compared to the Merc's 4matic in all other areas.

Sounds like a great lease rate, but I couldn't justify it simply because of the haphazard design of their infotainment screen.

And, as noted above, the UI for their screens is not the world's greatest.

But if you are only going to be in it for less than a year, I could live with it.
