How to see your oil temps/ Secret Menu!

Hey all,

Been bugging me for awhile how our cars don't have the oil temp gauge but luckily I was doing a bit of research and found out we have a secret menu which shows us the oil temp/coolant temp/ fault codes and a lot of other information BMW took away!

I have been using it ever since I found it, it seems my cars oil temp runs pretty cool with an average of 90 degrees at normal cruise/traffic and 99-100 degrees when I'm giving it the beans.

Haha nice , have you used the secret menu yet?! Would be good to know what the N55 oil and coolant temps are.

When my car has been sitting overnight and I start it the next morning, the oil temp starts at 20-28degrees Celsius and I watch it slowly climb to 90 as I'm driving to work. The only regret I have now is not getting the tech package for the larger screen on the dash. My secret menu shows one line at a time but it's ok, It's mainly the oil temp that I'm after

i'm not much of a tinkerer on my cars (mountain bikes yes). maybe in the summer on a longer drive I'd consider bringing it up. but by a few accounts even in track conditions it literally keeps its cool
