Question Aftermarket Wheels- Non Sport E90, Questions!

I have been really considering aftermarket wheels on my e90 non sport 325i, particularly the csl replicas but i don't want my car to suffer from a huge whee/tire fender gap and have a 4x4 looking stance with aftermarket wheels. If I could achieve the wheel/tire to fender gap the sport 330's have with the 162's I would like that alot!

With my stock setup right now, the 156's and the big giant doughnut looking RFT's - the fender gap is covered pretty well. Aftermarket suspension or modifying the suspension is out of the question.

If I went with 18's or 19's CSL wheels, would my car suffer from a 4x4 stance? meaning a big gap between the whees/tires and the fenderwell? Maybe the series profile of the tire has something to do with this? Any feedback is much appreciated

Thanks!!

If you go with 19s it will look like a 4x4. The 18s wont be that bad but it would look better with a drop. After all, it does sit .6" higher than the sport equipped car.

Yea, I'd stay away from the 19s. The lower profile tires will just emphasis the fender gap more even if the overall diameter is the same. The 18s would look much better.

If I went with 18's, could I get away with using a little thicker series profile tire to help make up for that .6 difference?

Mr. Bimmer,
I have the non-sport suspension and 18" wheels. IMO, the car looks much better now than with the stock 16" wheels, but there's still a rather large fender gap.
I'm having the Eibach pro-kit/FSD suspension installed soon to remedy this. I know you said that suspension mods are out of the question, but perhaps you could consider this since even adding the sport suspension (0.6" lowering) will make a huge difference. BMW just started selling M-tech package cars in Korea with the sport suspension and 17" wheels, and it looks much tidier than having non-sport suspension and 18" wheels. I checked the classifieds on this forum, and there always seems to be one or two people selling their sport suspension package, and I was seriously considering going this route with my own car.
Hope this helps.

You will still want to stick with the 35 front and 30 rear profile on 19s. You risk rubbing if you go with a higher profile tire and it really will not get rid of the 4x4 look.
