Windows tinted found scratch

Looking for some advice or anyone who experienced a similar problem.

I recently had my windows tinted and we found a hair line scratch in the back passenger quarter window. Anyone know if my BMW warranty will cover this or am I screwed because the windows were tinted. The scratch can not be felt from the cabin or from the exterior of the car. It's as if it is inside the glass.

Sort of a catch 22, since I would have never seen it if I didn't get the windows tinted.

Take it back to the place that it was tinted, you can try to get them to repair the window if you would be able to convince them that they were the ones that caused it. Might be kind of difficult though. Other thing is that BMW will more likely not cover a window replacement under warranty because it is not a mechanical failure. You would have an easier time convincing the tint shop that they caused it than convincing BMW that it was a factory defect on your cars production.

Same exact location on mine when I got it tinted. Thought it was just the tint until I had them remove and replace it

It's likely it happened while they were cutting the tint but it's not in a place where the blade should have passed through but I guess it depends on how they cut it

The scratch is on the inside. They gave me a real tough time that about, because they said all the cutting is done on the outside. I asked if they brought any tools inside the car, which of course they said yes. But those tools wouldn't scratch glass. Except now I have pictures of when the tint was taken off and there are new scratches on the glass.

They are replacing the window. I hate to be an asshole, but I highly doubt I drove the car for a month. All of the people that came up to see it, and all of the dealership people that were around it. No one saw two huge gashes in the window.

Scratches once tint was removed.
