Steering Wheel Question

I purchased a steering wheel for my 2012 328i. It is not an msport wheel. It has the same shape as the stock steering wheel but has been upgraded with nappa leather, paddle shifters and M stitching.

Installed it today and coded the paddles. Everything works and i have to say it is the best mod i have done so far. The steering feels amazing....BUT i have one problem

All the buttons function but the horn does not work?? any reason? bad wire? fuse? or just need to take the airbag out and look at the wires? any help is appreciated.

There should be a tan or brown wire behind the airbag, is it connected on both ends? I believe this wire operates the horn as contact is made between the airbag and the steering wheel when you press down on the airbag. You'll need to remove the airbag again to check this unfortunately. The baseline/sportline airbag is a pain to remove, while the more expensive Msport airbag is removed in less than a minute.

Yeah took me a good minute to get it removed but i think i got it now.

I did notice though that there is not much travel between the airbag and steering wheel now :/

Maybe a wire is in the way behind the airbag?

SOLVED. Turns out there was a wire getting in the way.

FYI upgrading to an m steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather with shift pedals has been the best mod i have done thus far. SO WORTH IT

Works like a dream.

hmmm you have my attention. Only problem is that they are sold out now. How hard was the coding ? Does it work perfectly like the factory does?

Seriously, night and day difference. It feels like a sports car now.

The coding took me exactly 5 mins but my car was already wired for the pedals so i did not have to add wiring which is the annoying part.

It feels better than the original

The easiest way is to see if u have the code for it, or at least that is what i did.

From my understanding is if u have the code then u have the wiring.

Others please correct me if im wrong
