Empty projector on F30 xenon headlights
This may be a dumb question or one that has been answered before, but is the inner projector on the F30 xenon headlights empty? Does it serve any purpose?

Unfortunately it is just a blank area surrounded by the halo.
I am hoping to see pioneers who will be at the cutting edge of cocking about in actually putting that blank space to good use. |

I always thought that the stock bi-xenon setup that BMW puts out looks broken with only the low-beam bowls being used. It looks like a pair of the bulbs are burned out. Yuck.
i put another pair of bi-xenons in that empty bowl to make it look more symmetrical |

lol... fair warning, that doing quads is not for the faint of heart if you are still game, here you go:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1100478 bienarcis inspired me to do it, but i didn't have the nerve to start it until halfway through the thread. its a long read, but its got all the details you need. btw.. i'm working on a new set of headlights for my car that attempts to re-create the magic of the M4 hexagon concept rings that bmw came up with originally, then blueaudi18 after that, then oneightyny after him. i'm running into some physical and environmental challenges so more prototyping and testing is necessary. but the design of these are too good to let them go to the grave, so i'm trying to bring it back to life. That looks very well put together and gives the front a much more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing look (which is pretty hard to do considering how good the cars look out of the box). I look forward to seeing how the new M4 style light project turns out.

hi, I know you said its a tough DIY but could you explain how you got the inner projector (the ones closer to the grill) to light up along side the outside one (the ones closer to the fenders) for the dual-symmetrical look? I've looked all over the web and didn't find anything remotely close looking to your set up.
