Review - F30 License Plate LED module upgrade from iJDMToy

i was out on the freeway one night and noticed a BMW that had some especially bright lights around the license plate area. It looked really clean and white and i decided i was going to upgrade mine.

I ordered this iJDMToy license plate LED modules for the F30 from amazon for ~$20 and it took like 5 minutes to install with a flat head screwdriver and a trim pry tool.

The difference in the brightness is night and day. Most of the reviews on Amazon said that it was too bright. I think its just right. When most other LEDs i order either turn out not bright enough or too blue/purple, it was a little refreshing for once to get something that was as advertised - ultra white and ultra bright. And i can always mask it out with tape if it i change my mind later and want to tone it down a little.

Great upgrade for $20 and 5 minutes of your time

Here's some comparison shots to show the difference in brightness.

I have the same ones. I think they're too bright. They mess with the white balance and general use of my rearview camera.

It's still very useable, but the glare is annoying.

TBH, I don't k ow why I did this mod. 1) I mm why do I care about illuminating my LP to make it easier for people to read and 2) oh wait, I don't even have played on my car - they're in my trunk lol

My intent was to get an "all white arry-where" look, and the license plate dull yellow color was one of the last things to get rid of / replace.
