Spacer fitting

I'm looking at the burger tuning spacers as they are hub centric and seem to be a reputable company, however I have no idea what size my car can take with no rubbing. My specs are below:

18 x 8.5 et 30
18 x 9.5 et 35

225/40/18
255/35/18

As you can see, very stock sizing. No rolled fenders or suspension mods.
What size spacers can I get and still not have rubbing even at a full turn?

Thanks

I wouldn't go any more than 5mm in the front and 10mm in the rear. And even those sizes may cause some rubbing. Roll your fenders and you should be find with those sizes.

I was thinking 12mm in front and 15mm in back. Would that require I roll the rear fenders?

The OEM style 230s were
19x8 et37
19x9 et 39

My aftermarket are
18x8.5 et 30
18x9.5 et 35

Here's my understanding...please correct where necessary
With wider wheels, you need less offset. Because of an extra half inch (12.5mm) of wheel width, a 19x8 et37 is equivalent to 18x8.5 et 25.

With a 12mm spacer in the front my effective offset is 18x8.5 et18.

...so my front tires will protrude 7 mm further out than OEM

Is this right??

No that first part is incorrect.

An 8.5" wheel vs a 8" wheel is gaining 0.25" on both sides if you keep the same offset. So if you want to maintain the same inboard clearance, you have to subtract a 0.25" of offset (6.35mm). If you want to maintain the same outboard clearance, you have to add a 0.25" of offset.

So, an 18x8.5+31 will sit with roughly the same clearance inboard as an 18x8+37 and an 18x8.5+43 will sit with roughly the same clearance outboard.

In my head to calculate, I take the wheel width difference and divide by two to see the width gain on both sides. That number is the amount of offset you have to make up in either direction if you want to maintain clearance on one side. Tires make things more difficult since they vary so much, but this is a great starting point. Sucks that there's so much standard to metric conversion lol.

My goal with the spacers isn't to necessarily have the same amount of clearance, as long as I'm not rubbing. I was trying to figure out how much my aftermarket wheels and spacers would stick out from my stock 19s style 230 wheels.

However, I understand your point and it's helpful info. Thanks

I didn't figure, but starting out from a known position always helps me determine how much wiggle room I have.

I had test-fitted my TE37SLs before going widebody, and the rear tires stuck out about 0.25".
Wheels: 18x11+34 (did not clear inside, needs a small spacer)
Tires: 315/30/18 BFG Rival S (they have a beefy shoulder).

Hopefully that helps some more.
