From Regular Door Sills to LED

Anyone have any experience doing this? I'm thinking of buying some and installing them myself if possible. I'm interested in how the wiring would work or coding if any.

As I understand there is no wiring. Just snap it in place.

They're battery powered? I know some are. If someone can confirm these to be battery powered that would be awesome!

They are indeed battery powered. The small flat circle ones. They have been working great on mine for the past 6 months.

Garage List
Do these all retail for upwards of $200, or is there somewhere to get a better deal on these?

Yes, there is a small magnet that automatically turns off the LEDs when the door is closed. Would you rather have to wire it up to your car's power? That would take a lot more time and effort.

I saw them on EBAY for $158 but they are gone now. The cheapest I can find now is $172. I'm waiting for the dealer to put them back on EBAY for $158 and I'm going to snatch them up. If I remember it was a BMW dealer some when in Pennsylvania.

ebay has the moving led sills for 81 bucks.. they are not mag. operated tho so you will have to hook up two wires, one to ground, and one to the grey / red wire at the foot well light under the steering wheel. but that will take less than 20 min.

That is the link for $172.00 I think the dealer that had them for $158.00 is Sun BMW.
They are on EBAY but are not listing the door sills anymore. I wish I had jumped on that price. I talked to my dealer and asked it they would match, but the best he would do is $192.00. Might be worth sending a email to SUN BMW. At that price they could possibly sell a few, plus they offered free shipping.

Just installed mine yesterday. They look pretty good. The LED lights are a little smaller than anticipated. The instructions on installing them are absolutely terrible. They are poorly organized pictures that use no words. It's amazing that someone in their development team looked at it and actually though "LOOKS GOOD. SUPER INTUITIVE" LOL

The little adhesive piece meant to incase the magnet and stick to your door is very cheap and looks like it could fall off a few weeks down the road and you'd never know until you notice your lights stop working. I'm sure BMW would just tell you to buy a whole new set to replace the magnets! haha
