Cheap LED turn signals?
Hi,
I have done some searching and found a few threads discussing this subject. But most of them are pretty old. And all I find is people suggesting pretty expensive LED-lights, $60 for 2x. Anybody who have tried cheaper alternatives that work great in the front and in the rear? I have an ENET-cable so I can do the coding. Would love to hear your thoughts, and please link to the product you have tested. Pictures is much appreciated too! |

Nobody has had any legit success with "cheap" turn signals. They're either way too dim, don't work, or don't last long and cause errors. $60 for 2 isn't a bad deal, considering they should last the life of your car, they're brighter, AND they're LED...gotta pay to play. I'm not sure which bulbs you're referring too for $60 but these are the ones I havehttps://bimmian.com/Accessories-for-BMW/Lighting/Turn-Signal-Lights/LED-Turn-Signal-Bulbs/
and I love them. Replaced fronts, rears and reverse lights, also a lifetime warranty! never have to buy another bulb again.

I too have had great experience with the Weisslicht bulbs off of bimmian. $100 for a pair, and you get a lifetime warranty with them. I have 30 watt turns all around and 30 watt brake lights, and they are by far brighter than the 50 watt bulbs I bought from Horizion.
Just remember, you bought a BMW, not a honda. No sense in going cheap on something when it will just make your car look bad. |

I only changed my brake lights and rear signals. These bulbs are bright and great quality IMO. You just need to code them so they don't blink every so often (typical for every LED bulb swap).

I got some cheap ones from jtechnowcom on eBay. While not a direct match with the xenons, I've had them for almost a year now and they're still good. Only cost me $25

If I was to go back, I would probably have taken my time and gotten something better, quality wise. I do believe I had to send back a bulb or two until I got two good bulbs. But yeah, as you can see, not a perfect match but I didn't spend enough time searching for a good bulb. Bought the first one I saw haha |

Those are for the F30. He has an F36. I believe they are H21W-435 for an F36, unless they are different than a F32. I've changed all bulbs (except for rear fogs) from Horizon + Bimmian. Nothing but great things to say about both companies.

On my 2014 F30, I have replaced back up & Rear turn signals with Weisslicht LEDS from Bimmian; went with amber rear turns. Coding to eliminate flicker was very straight forward
While these bulbs are more than others but have lifetime replacement guarantee |

Forgot to mention I was talking about the brake lights only. Reverse lights are PW24W on the F32. Should be the same on the F36. Owner's manual has it as PW16W but PW24W fits perfectly and operates as expected.
