Gold Rim nightmare

where to begin. found a set of gold hamman 19" rims i liked on ebay. ordered them for about 1000 with shipping. about two weeks later i receive two rims in the mail, but only 2. those two were perfect, they are in the first picture on the left. then about a month and a half goes by and i finally get the other two rims in the mail. they almost made me puke. they were nothing close to the first two. you can see they are in the first picture on the right. the green yellowish looking thing. so i emailed the guy and was like we have a problem. he sent me 4 labels and told me to send them back. so i send all 4 putting a note in the two i want to keep saying "KEEP" and two notes in the other two saying "repaint" like he told me too.

(i ordered the ones on the left, the ones on the right came almost 2 months later)

this is what i just received, the flash on the camera makes it look more like gold, but its not that bright. its actually alot darker

here is the chip. you can tell the original color underneath.

then probably about 2 months go by. i bought these in OCTOBER of 07. i get the new set yesterday finally, after telling him back in january that if they arent here by march 1, i dont want them. so i open only one, just to check first, and the color is way off. its like a darker gold, but i started to like them so i was thinking about keeping them. i havnt opened the other 3 and i when i went to put the bmw center cap that came with it on, which is plastic, a piece of paint literally falls off. you can see it in the 3rd pic (click to make bigger). i now want to return them since i am afraid that after a month the thing will be two colors due to pealing. or am i just paranoid? what did this company do wrong so i know what to tell the guy when i call him.

yeah its def the pics, if you saw the ones on the right, you d be like "who would put those on their car", it had a greenish tint to it. i took that pic with my iphone and it was blurry. i couldnt find the pics he had on ebay cause its been too long. i need to repost pics tommorrow in the daylight

I like those alot, but they are way out of my price range and i live in pittsburgh PA, pothole nation. we have potholes that are about 2-3 feet deep. its crazy. those would be all screwed up by the end of fall.

Dude, send them back. The paint quality is obviously terrible and will most likely give you heartaches down the road. If it chipped that easily, he either did not prime it or did a shitty job trying to do it.

In post #10, that color is copper, not gold. I personally like copper, however, it's not what you ordered and as everyone else has said, the quality obviously sucks.

It's noooothing. Put the first 2 on one side, and the later 2 on the other. You'll never know, not being able to see the difference together. That is, if they aren't staggered or if they shipped 1 of each width/offset at a time.

Joking, of course... Good luck. At least it sounds like they're taking care of it.

Send them back. They're going to look terrible in a month after you put them on the car and you'll be stuck with them.

honestly speaking, you can't really expect much from 4 19" inch rims that cost $1,000. I would suggest you get a refund and save up for better rims.
