Are parking lights always on???
Hey everyone, trying to get clarification and also clean up my halogen bulb upgrade. After getting the Philips Diamond white bulbs, I am still getting the horrible yellow glow from the parking lights. One would assume that the parking lights are exactly what the name implies - only on when in the park position. But I just drove up to a store and noticed those damn things were on.
Any thoughts??? If they are indeed all the time (i.e. In automatic light mode even when driving) then I may need to change those guys out too. Thanks! |

Sadly, yes...they are always on I've got the Diamond White bulbs as well and am just living with the fact that there are three colors going on in the headlight assembly at night (Amber side, parking yellow, white low beams). I tried the coding route for a parking light disable but found nothing. Let me know if you come across any solutions!

bump. I get that they are on with the headlights are on but they seem to stay on SOMETIMES when driving around with DRL (during the day). I dont get it... Sometimes they will turn off after pulling out of a parking spot, and sometimes they stay on...regardless of the weather and if it is sunny outside or not.
The reason I ask is 1) its annoying to see the green indicator on my screen. 2) I dont think aesthetically the headlights look as good with LED DRL & parking lights vs. just having the LED DRL showing. I always have my lights in "auto" btw. Anyone know the reason my parking lights stay on sometimes...and sometimes turn off? |

I've upgraded my low beams to Diamond Vision H7 and for parking lights I used iJDMToy's LED parking light conversion and they're really nice.
H7 bulb replacement is a PITA |

So realized that when I am in "auto" mode, almost always my headlights are on...and thus...my parking lights are on.
So I guess the question is now...why when the car is in auto mode, and its bright and sunny out, are my headlights on??? Is there a sensor somewhere that could be bad/dirty?? |

The car will turn the lights on if it's in direct sunlight so other cars can see you. But on average they should be off for most of the day, the sensor may be either blocked or bad.
