Gloss Black Mirror Caps

Are there any other solutions outside of IND mirror caps? I've tried vinyl wrapping them but the top of the housing makes it hard to properly fold over + cut the vinyl to keep all of it from shrinking.

Are these are the same caps as the 3 series? Might just be easiest to buy a BSM from someone who got CF caps.

I just got my BSM and I'm going to have the mirror caps and rear diffuser painted BSM. Have you seen anyone have it?

No, I haven't. I do believe the 3 series comes with colored caps but I'm but 100% so prefer not to buy them yet.

You can't really go wrong with the IND caps. Those are oem and fit like a glove. If you happen to get paint matched covers, they do a damn good job at matching and will fix it if it's not close.

The cost isn't horrible either when you consider what one of the oem caps costs, plus the time and materials to paint it.

I'm just confused why don't people paint the ferric gray caps that come with the car? That's my plan at this point.

I want the ability to return the car to stock without spending more money in the future. Thus I still have the factory floor mats, mirror caps, reflectors, grilles, rims, etc in a box.

Most people don't care. I don't really care either.

Still it's nice to be able to sell the car in as close to the condition I bought it as possible.

I'm on a lease so I don't want to spend money on OEM parts down the line.

That's my point. If it costs $50 to paint the mirrors is be surprised. If the dealer said anything about added value is be amazed. Especially just painting the OE parts.

I learned something; bought a set of BSM mirror caps from an F30. I'll try them. Then I've always got the OE ferric gray left to wrap or something. Thx guys.

It comes out cheaper to go ind especially if you sell the ferric ones. I basically broke even going that route.

I plan on going IND, I bought the M235i gloss black badge and it is excellent quality.

How about plasti dip? Once you're over it or ready to return the vehicle due to lease, you can peel right right off. It's durable too.

Plasti-dip doesn't match well with the glossy mirror housing, at least the matte stuff I had in my garage. I did mine and it seems to be holding up well.

When it starts peeling I plan to go for a glossy finish, but right now I'd rather not pry them back off and risk messing up the paint.

Thought about Plastidip but I managed to find someone to swap their 3 series BSMs with me

Can you post more pictures of your car with those mirrors covers? I'm not sure if it looks better those mirror covers or the 'standard' ones painted in gloss black.
Thank you
