New MAP sensor. Still getting Boost pressure sensor signal interruption code

Boost pressure sensor signal interruption oKurzschluss to earth Code: 003F01. That is my only code. It comes back after a couple of days after I clear it.

It's an 09 X5 35d w/ 44k miles. I replaced the MAP sensor last month. It hesitates while accelerating gently. In addition to the sensor I have changed all vacuum hose, actuators, and the red boost hose. I pulled the manifold last week and there was not a ton of CBU. Any ideas what I should check next? Could Rheingold help?

The sensor wires directly to the ECMs so I don't think there is a ground connection point to check. I suppose there is a chance the new sensor is also bad. That is a easy $70 check. I checked ground with my volt meter and it shows as good even when I wiggle the pigtail of wire around. Thanks

All the information on this code suggests its either the MAP sensor which you already replaced, or EGR failure (CBU??). Thats all based on older models though.

Here is what the front EGR looks like. The E70 has a 2nd EGR by the turbos that I have not checked yet.

Smassey, that looks like the older style of hi press EGR valve. Reason I recognize it is the inward protruding boss on the left. I had the recall done and the EGR isn't made like this anymore. I got another used EGR valve so that I could machine out its throat and this one looked same as yours prior to me hacking it into a smooth throat. I will double check.

That said, X5 hi press valve could be different and similar in design to obsolete 335d valve.

Did you have the recall work done?

This is the best picture I could find of old vs new EGR. I think it is new but I am not 100% sure. There are no records of it being changed. 1/09 build date. Thanks

I'm sorry. I messed up. Your valve is the updated one. I have a picture of my updated valve. It matches the #1 in your attached illustration. Indeed, your #2 was what I hacked up for my "straight through" valve. Second pic is a side by side of old "throat cleared" valve and updated one. And sorry again for pulling off track. My bad. I don't have picture of old valve before surgery began.
