335d uprated oil cooler

I have been seeing some high oil temps when doing track days and its limited the time I can actually drive the car hard. Does anyone know where to get one specifically for the 335d N57? Or would a universal one be fine, if so what fittings it is for the take off points? Also where would be the best place to plumb it in?

Sorry for the 101 questions but I can't find anything aftermarket that doesn't look pants.

Would you mind posting some data on oil temps? What you think is acceptable, how high it's getting now, where you hope it will land with a better cooler?

I'm thinking of tracking my car soon and it would be helpful to know what to look for. Thanks!

Im seeing 120 degrees C, highest I recorded was 125C before backing right off to allow the car to cool. Id like to see no higher than 100 degrees Centigrade under hard track driving, I am planning on fitting a large oil cooler, bigger alloy rad and waterless coolant, hopefully then it will be fine.

The M57 (and I think N57) use an oil-to-water cooler, rather than air. Don't think there are any readily available solutions; you're going to have to engineer your own.

Crazy, why do you say your E91 LCI has an N57? Thought they all had M57 in them.

For M57, what you are missing in yours is what is called an additional radiator. I think this comes on a hot climate version of the D, at least on the USA/CAN side. You can always add it to yours, I am sure it will not be hard. Or you can try adding in the same spot an oil to air cooler, like N54 has.

Cheers guys, I will have a look into this then. Although if I keep my coolant temps down in essence it should keep oil levels at an acceptable level?

Engine wise, I have been told on numerous occasions its an N57. I thought it was an M57 but local indy and tuner have said its the N57.

Wow to have this problem! I mostly use my car for such a short commute it barely gets up to temperature, I think I need a new main thermostat but will wait a few more weeks until the weather picks up to do it along with a EGR cooler delete, one less thing to go wrong and will release a tiny bit of space in that region.

I would like to know myself then. 2009 E91 LCI shows M57 for 335d and N57 for 330d.

Grazy,
This is real simple to figure out.
Go to realoem.com and put in last 7 of your VIN into the top box. Mine brings up engine type in far right column
