Question D Prices

So I was bored last night and decided to see how many 335d's were for sale within 100 mile range and was surprised to see about 10 for sale. Is it me or is that a lot? Also seems like the values have gone down significantly since I last checked which was back in September. How are prices in other areas of the US?

10 within 100 miles doesnt seem that high, there are probably more than 1000 within 100 miles of you given your location and the obsession southern california has with leased BMWs. Prices will have dropped significantly because now all of them are out of factory 4/50k warranty, and an increasing number of them wont be CPO either.

true I didn't think of the warranty aspect and 100% agreed with the so cal lease obsession. Does anyone roughly know the numbers produced for the 335d ?

Prices on cars.com and autotrader.com have stayed fairly steady since November 2015, when I started looking. Maybe the prices have dropped a LITTLE, but not much.

Number kicked around on this forum is something like 10,000 335d were sold in North America in the three years it was offered (2009, 2010 and 2011)

All depends on where you live. Only 3 on autotrader within 200 miles of me! 163 for sale across the entire country. When I bought mine a couple years ago, that number was usually in the 250-300 range.

Autotrader check, prices seemed to average $19,000. I didn't see any above 90k miles.

I'll be listing mine for sale soon, and have been keeping an eye on prices. Prices have dropped somewhat, but not in a major way. Sport package or M-sport definitely attract a higher price (real shock).

Just for fun is that 10,000 number per year or total over 3 years?

I paid $16K for my daughter's 2011 335d (88K miles) back in November 2015 in Plano, TX. Hers is:

Space Grey Metallic w/Oyster Dakota leather
Premium Package
Sports Package (paddle shifters)
Navigation
CPO warranty to 100K
Estimated sticker when new $52,625

I paid $17K for my 2011 335d M Sport (70K miles) in January 2016 in Plano, TX. Mine is:

Alpine White w/Beige Dakota leather
Convenience Package w/rear PDC (not front)
M Sport Package (no paddle shifters)
HK stereo
Premium Package
Estimated sticker when new $58,000

Both have been in the shop, but overall have been decent cars. Not as reliable as Toyota or Acura, but WAY WAY more fun on the road !!

Funny thing though... 2011 had a 3x rise in sales over the year before... And then it got cancelled due to not being popular?
To put this in prospective, Nissan builds approximately 10,000 Altimas per week.

Looking for hard sales numbers for the whole life of the USA 335d....but for now:

http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/10/22/u-...elerate-to-38/

This chart shows that through Sept 2010, the 335d was at 2,748 units sold - more than any of the MB diesels, but only half of the X5 35d.

This page shows that through July 2011 (1,866 sold in first 7 months of 2011) versus July 2012 (704 sold in the first 7 months), sales of the 335d had fallen 62.3% year-to-year, as they were being phased out.

http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2012/08...-rankings.html

This chart shows total sales for CY 2010 of the 335d: 3,802

Very nice, thanks for the numbers guys. I imagine there are many more M3s on the road. People have talked about the rarity of our car before, but i think it is even more "rare" than i realized.

Interesting indeed. I've seen more 328d's on the road than 335d. However, of all the 335d's I've seen, I've yet to see another M Sport model. I haven't seen an M Sport model of the 328d either. I see more Tesla Model X's than 335d's! Haha.

335d

I got my 2011 335d with 46K miles last October for $21k in FL and had it shipped to KY. Black with sport package and premium package. Just put non-run flat Michelin Pilot sport AS3 tires on and love them. Just refilled the
DEF and changed the oil. Mercedes has a good deal on the DEF. Buy a 5gal jug for $50 and get $30 refills.
