Shift delay from park to drive and drive to neutral?

Noticed this the other day. Going from park to drive there is a delay in engagement and almost kind of bumps into gear like it has a shift kit. Going from drive to neutral takes a second to disengage also.

Park to reverse and reverse to neutral and vise versa is the samething. No SES lights and other issues besides the slightly harsh and delayed engagement into D from neutral or park and delayed disengagement from d to neutral.

Any ideas?

Have done a check of the transmission fluid level properly as described in ISTA? Basics first...

I've noticed that mine has always been on the slow side. Have never gotten the bump you talk about, but I just assumed that this trans is just lazy when it comes to the selection of D,P, and R.
I just got my trans fluid and pan/filter switched out and no noticeable change.

Petey maybe you should mention in this thread that you were doing boosted launches and "hot laps" at the drag strip.. I'm sure there's a bunch of guys here that build these transmissions jaja

I have noticed that while in drive, if I bump it into neutral, it takes about 1 sec. to disengage. If I take my foot off the brake at the same time I shift to neutral, the car moves forward slightly then stops moving forward under load when it finally disengages.

So, yes, I have noticed similar delays.
