I just did a smog check yesterday and pay $69. Last year I pay $45. Wondering how much people are paying around the states?

In Georgia emissions inspection is only for gasoline vehicles in the 13 metro counties which make up the core Atlanta area. Diesels are exempt all over the state including in metro Atlanta. The fee for emissions for cars/trucks is usually $20-$25. The state legislature caps the max fee at $25. Besides diesels, motorcycles and RVs are also exempt. There is also an age-based exemption for senior citizens, and another one for newer cars. The three most recent model year vehicles are exempt from emissions testing each year. For registration in 2016, this includes all 2014 and newer model year vehicles.

You are also exempt from emissions if your vehicle is 25 years or older federally, but I didn't know about the senior citizen one down here.

OP here in SoCal 45-50 dollars is the normal price.
