INPA on our M57

Hey Guys,
I know this is a question more for the BMW coding board, but i have run into what appears to be an M57 specific issue, so I thought I would try here first.

I am not able to get INPA working after following the instructions by wildcatcrazy. I even worked with him a bit directly to see if we could get it figured out to no avail.

Who has INPA working on our cars? I am pretty sure there are folks out there who have. If i can get it figured out what is needed, wildcatcrazy will update his instructions/files and we all will benefit.

Thanks.

It's M57 that our engine is, may be that is a starting point?

I have it partially working but found it frustrating that certain elements still didn't work.

Therefore I turned to Rheingold.

When I tried 808's install it failed completely on my win10 machine, so I ended up getting a different install package from wildcatcrazy's thread which installed just fine. And Im able to do coding and stuff, just cant do diagnostics on my engine. Which is the reason im fighting this thing to begin with.

I will read through this closely and let you know what I figure out. Thanks!

This will get you a working version of Rheingold.

Google rutracker Rheingold 3.47.10. That is a fully working version of the software. There are newer versions but they require an earlier version such as this to install.

To install; Google car technology 3.44 and firstly follow the instructions on here to install. Then use the instructions in the configuration manual that came with the download to finish it off.

It sounds complex but it's pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions step by step.

Hopefully others can confirm to the following:

AFAIK rheingold took over inpa for e and f cars (ie. e90). Prior to that there was inpa D (diagnostics) and inpa p (programing ie. coding). what I'm not sure about is the latest rheingold version and the latest database (correct term?) files for it/ our cars.

Yeah, so you lost me from the start Len..... I found the rutracker page, but its definitely in a language i am not familiar with. Is my only option there to torrent the file? no way to download directly? and its really 9+ GB compressed? Wow. So after i download and install that....I go to this other place for instructions...then back to configuration manual from original download to finish?

You'll need to use Google Translate from Russian to English. I found it was easiest to register first and get used to the site then use Google translate to find the link.

I could only find the Torrent; I guess the size is the reason there's no direct link. 9Gb sounds about right too.

Once you have completed the downloads; use the other site for the bulk of the instructions to install then the final element using the manual in the download.

Rheingold

I got Rheingold up and running, but honestly I have no idea what its capable of or what to do in here.

So far all I have seen is error codes and service plans.... I assume there is more diagnostics but i dont have a clue where/what/how.

Anyone have a good "how to" on it?
