M Performance Exhaust tips for 228?

Are the M Performance Exhaust tips available for the 228? The BMW Accessory page is a bit confusing. If I narrow down the search to the 228i coupe, the only thing it lists are the Exhaust Pipe Finisher adapters. And to make it even more confusing, if you click on the adapters link, the description BMW gives is as follows:

"You can add the stylish and exclusive BMW M Performance Exhaust Tips to your standard exhaust to dress up your 2 Series without the increased sound from the M Performance Exhaust."

So are they adapters or the actual tips? As you can see, quite confusing.
Has anyone actually added M Performance tips to their 228? I'm wondering if you have to purchase the M235i tips, or even possibly the 328i ones?

Thanks in advance if anyone has an answer.

I don't have the actual part numbers in front of me, but when you remove your 228 exhaust tips you will have to add adapter pipes that increase the size of the pipe to accept the MP tips. You may have to cut a small portion of the pipe ends.

Same on the M235, which is what I'm doing as I didn't want the MP exhaust. I assume the 228 is the same.

Okay, nice. Thanks for the info. Are the part #'s for the 228 exhaust tips different than the ones for the M235? Also I assume the M Perf tips will fit with the M Perf rear diffuser?

I added the black chrome "finishers" on the wife's 228i M-Sport convertible. They look much better than the chrome ones and took 5 minutes to install.

Any photos, please, and are these BMW parts...part numbers?

Thanks!

No photos available yet, but yes, these are BMW parts, and were ordered from Tischer BMW at getbmwparts dot com. I looked them up under the Accessories catalog:

Accessory Catalog
Genuine BMW F22/23 Black Chrome Exhaust Tips
Item no. 18307610633

They're sold individually and have an option for either the N55 engine or N20/26 engine. The existing finishers can be pulled off and then these are pushed on over the unfinished pipes. Takes a little work to get the chrome finishers off, but the new ones slip on down to about 1/2" from the end and need tapping with a rubber hammer or block of wood to get them all the way on.

Are the M Performance tips for the 228 something a dealer would install for you?

I would think so, although they'll probably need to order them. They're not that difficult to do yourself, though. A little twisting and pulling will remove the original ones and the new ones just slip on and then are tapped in place for the last 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Dealer may charge you half an hour's labor for that.

So I found these exhaust tips for the N20 engine.

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...uine-bmw-part/

Would these need the adapters? Or would they fit in place of the stock tips?

They appear to be replacements for stock tips, which are slip-ons, although these apparently don't just use friction to stay in place (see the photo with what appears to be a bolt in a small cutout section).

So did I. Got them from Turner, easy to install, hated the chrome. $47/each.
