I tried to shop there a couple of times, but they MURDER you with shipping costs !! For example, unless you go over $75, buying one of these for $13.11 is $9.95 shipping to Texas !!

Husker has them at $12.69 without special sale. I believe they are quite reasonable on shipping. I always pick up a few from them when I order something.

PS: these are genuine BMW filters

Those are all good prices. I paid $18 for my last "MAHLE Original OX 177/3D Oil Filter" from Amazon via Prime.

Yep I buy from rock auto but I get the Wix filter. Rockauto carries all sorts of stuff for the 335d Addy a good price.

I just bought mobil one 0w-40 full synthetic for European engines. It has bmw's spec LL-01 life. I hope this is acceptable for our cars....

We are supposed to use LL-04 in the diesels. As I understand it, the LL-04 is formulated to not clog the emissions (it is low ash).

Once you delete, you can surely use other kinds of oil. Is your car still stock?

It is in the process of the abc deletes and tune. I was just getting rid of the oil to start fresh with the new tune and new exhaust. So who makes an LL-04 besides bmw's twin power oil? I am not a fan of shell's rotella either...

There are several, but none are cheap. Most are european products that are imported, thus sold by the liter and not the quart. Mobil 1 ESP, Pentosin, LiquiMoly, Castrol Edge in Europe - I have personally used Mobil 1 ESP and Pentosin with no issues.

So be it. I decided I'll stick to the stock oil and filter. Appearently Autohauz is on back order for oil filters and canceled my order. So I decided to get my stuff from the dealer stocked and ready to go. Nothing like oem.

I use the OEM stuff, picked up the oil and filter for ~80. A lot easier than tracking stuff down pre abc delete.

Sure thing. Well I have two times the experience. It's quite funny. I work for Caterpillar and I have a cummins truck. We had engines running in the test cell with shell rotella 15w40 in mineral Oil form and from long hours at various load conditions we watched the oil break down much sooner then say valvoline or Mobil detrac.

In the cummins world. I have heard of a few guys cooking their bearings on their turbos with shell 5w30 full synthetic. I don't know exactly the various conditions nor their oil change intervals or their load profiles, however I just preferred to stay away from it from all the negativity I had heard and noticed.
