275 Tyre's rubbing help...pics inside
So I upgraded my rear tyres to some federal rsrr 275/19/35 . For normal driving they are fine no rubbing, but if i have passengers and go over uneven road it rubs.
Need some guidance on the correct work to be done to stop the rubbing. located in Sydney

You'll need to do a fender roll

As you're probably aware you have the incorrect size rear tyre size, a 35 series 275 section tyre is like 27mm larger in diameter than a correct size 275/30....
call nelson at sydney guard rolling. By memory he was $160 to do my rear guards |

yeah, my speedo will probably be a bit out due to the incorrect size... Its a sacrifice i took for traction, especially for my cars power goals with hexon r700 in the future.
I will call Nelson for fender rolling thanks guys! update: Nelsons booked in for Wednesday

M3 spec tyres definately will help for traction and handling I had no hope of fitting M3 spec tyres on M3 spec rims though (the pics dont do it justice but you were lucky to fit a sheet of paper between the guards!) FYI he will cut your guard liner, I'm guessing he had to do this to get the roller in... I was a tad dissapointed my liner had been hacked with a stanley knife albeit my car was at advan getting the M3 driveline installed and I wasn't present when he done the rolling. |

So Instead of 275/35/19 will go 275/35/18, this way my speedo will stay correct and no fender roll required. I guess visually though 18s might not look as good esspecially for e90 |

You could always just stop carrying passengers in the back. Mine does the same under loading up the back. Squeaked all the way to Echuca and back when I had passengers lol

But the speedo will still be off right? I think the standard speedo error is +3kmh (as in it overstates) what would happen if I ran 35 instead of 30 on my 19s. Any ideas in what direction it would throw things off |

The speedo works off the ABS sensor/wheel bearing magnetic strip so larger rolling diameter may not affect our cars as much. |

As others have said, need to roll your fenders, I'm running 265 in the rear, with 12mm spacers and max roll, so if you have no spacers a guard roll should fix it up.

Use this wheel/tyre calculator - it will show you your speedo error amongst all the other good info on your before-after sizings.

The speedo will under read compared to stock. Meaning that if you are tavelling 100kph, it might read 99-98 if the tyre is brand new (largest rolling diameter).
Yep should be possible. Can be coded with nettodat coding via NCSExpert. Would require a bit of trial and error though: Relavant options in the cluster that correspond to impulses per kilometer: C08_K_ZAHL_TACHO C08_K_ZAHL_TACHO_KOMPL I don't see why you would want to run a taller tyre. Surely any marginal increase in grip will be offset by the bigger tyres which effectively give you a taller gear ratio. Maybe for drags but for a car that has to be driven on roads I don't see the benefit. Its also illegal: VIC: Look on page 7 https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/~/me...les.ashx?la=en NSW: http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/...si-09-rev4.pdf Cannot increase the rolling diameter beyond 15mm. Going from a 275/30 to a 275/35 is 27mm greater diameter than stock.
