Car won't start all of a sudden!

Well it finally happened. My D has given me it's first issue!

Went on some erunds today, then came home. Had to go back out 1.5 hours later. So got in the car aaaaaaand crank crank crank but no start

Car has no check engine light. Even tried pulling codes just for the hell of it, but come up with nothing.

Car has 48k on it, bpc stg. 2 with deletes. The car has been rock solid until now, can't believe this has happened.

I read threw some posts of people with similar issues. I have not had a chance to check voltage at the LP pump yet, but it looks like that is my starting point.

Any other input would be much appreciated!

What's the status of your SCR tanks? I think I recall a post with people having issues depending on what's in there with BPC tune + deletes

Why do you think it's the crank sensor?

After 3 weeks at dealer (no mods btw) with intermittent issues. It came home and threw that code. Someone had suggested it to me at that time which i blew off until i realized that it produces that exact behavior. (Car wont allow itself to start if it doesnt know where the crank is)

But he doesn't have codes.

I think it's the DEF fluid level.

But you DID get the code... Right?

BPC tunes have had a DEF fluid no start the they have since figure out. The OP might still have the old version of the tune that turns off the no start message but still experiences the no start once 1200-1500 miles has been driven.

Guess we'll see once it's fixed. Maybe it's the crank sensor... Maybe he's out of gas, maybe it's the DEF fluid.

Fill up the DEF tank and see if that works. If that doesn't work, check to see if the fuel pump relay module is inop.

Roughly how long have you been driving with the deletes, and presumably an empty DEF tank?

Thanks for all the reply's!

I received a PM from Bob, and from what he asked, and from what a few of you are hinting at, it all makes sense.

I drained my urea tanks when I installed my DP. I have since gone 1200-1500miles since the tune....plus I believe I have one of the early stg 2 tunes.

So I am going to fill up the tanks with distilled water, unless Bob has another suggestion.

Any special what that I should fill the tanks? Never done that before. I assume fill the active first, then fill the passive?

Thanks

I know it's entering summer, but I think Bob mentioned to add something to the distill water to prevent freezing in the winter can't remember if it's windshield washer fluid/de-icer or a bit of antifreeze, I am sure he can clarify tho, best of luck in getting the resolution, no starts are no fun.

one of the two will work, on the older tune, all its looking for is the level sensor to be full

This is an excellent rationale for re-purposing the urea tank to water/meth. It'll even tell you when it's time to re-fill!

With no change to shnaggs tune, what would happen if he removed the urea tanks and all associated h/w in that area?

It'd fail to start in approx 1200 miles.

Don't disagree with this answer but can you explain this?

I can only go off of the experience with my car. Once the tank was unplugged the computer started and continued the 1200mi countdown which ultimately resulted in a no start. This was with everything completely unplugged and removed. As soon as I plugged the tank back in she started right up. Ha

My car went more than the 999 mile warning. I traveled to OH and back which was 590miles each way, some driving around when I was there... Maybe another 100 and then another 80miles after I arrived home. ThenI had the no start.

My BPC tune is truly deleted now and no start is a thing of the past.
