Playing with Supercars
Driving in this morning on the interstate, I came across a line of Supercars from Canada heading towards the east coast. Several Ferrai's including an Enzo, Lambo's, an Aston, Porsche's and a Viper.
The little D was able to keep up with them and even lead the pack a few times. The Hurrican wanted to play so we did a couple of 65pmh starts. Was able to keep up with him but could not pass. He never got more than a car length in front. I am sure they could have put the hammer down and left me behind, but this was on the interstate and not a race track. I was glad I was able to keep up and not be left behind. |

Definitely agree with ya, the pulling power is insane. When the skinny pedal is mashed, she does not stop....the speedo climbs effortlessly to speeds that in my prior M cars took work to achieve. I have no doubt ungoverned this is a 180mph car. Problem is, the suspension and aero are not! My sport pack feels less planted than I'd like over 110mph. Suspension upgrades are on the eventual to-do list.

Glad you had some fun! I agree, very capable cars indeed. I also wish they were more planted at high speeds. I also have the sport package - I haven't taken it above 130ish since the wheel and tire change recently, but last time I got up above that I felt myself more at edge than when in my 370z..
Anyone got any suggestions to help improve this? I need to limit the suspension travel on mine right now anyway, there is some rubbing on the tires at the limits. |

My bilstein shocks made the car feel very planted at speed. Took my car to 140+ once and it didn't feel any different than going 80.

I love when I run into supercars on my S1000rr. A little machine that costs a fraction of the price with more performance and also the need to actually know how to handle the power instead of just hammer and go.
Then the D which pulls so hard in 6th gear. I tell people all the time, race me in top gear and lets see who wins. |

I kept it in 5th and sprinted around them. The only time I hit 6th was with the lambo. Started in manual 4th gear and let the tranny shift on its own. The lambo would always downshift before he took off so I got an early waning. Nice exhaust sounds!

I'm still stock. I put upgrading the D on hold while I rebuild my duramax. I'm trying to figure out how to turn it into a dual turbo setup.
If you take your D out for a run, try it in 5th gear at 3000rpm. You will like the way it handles. It feels like you have to hold it back because the horses want to run! |

it's not how big your engine is, its how big your balls (or nerves) are! All it takes is a deer carcass to ruin your day. |
