Upgrading a Alpine Retrofit
Hi
Just after some advice. Car is a 2009 with the CIC Nav. It originally had the base stereo but this was upgraded to the alpine retrofit before my ownership. The alpine amp is playing up and i wasnt really happy with the sound anyway so have started the process of upgrading. So far i have purchased a set of Xion 3 Way replacement speakers I will be purchasing a 4 channel amp and possibly a dsp. What i would like to know is if i can just use the existing alpine harness already in the car? My plan is to use 1 channel on the amp to power the door mid and tweeter with the supplied crossover and use another channel to power the underseat woofer. Is this how the current alpine retrofit works? If so in theory i just need to chop the end of the alpine harness off and feed the inputs into a amp. Is the feed from the harness low level or high level? Thanks Last edited by jazz5000; 05-17-2016 at 04:18 PM.. |
