E90 Base Audio - strange behaviour

Hi Guys,

After some advice here. I have a 2006 E90. Car has CCC and base audio.

Currently fitted, I have
Morel Front speakers (driven by Amp)
Morel Underseat Midbass (driven by Amp)
Standard rear speakers, driven by headunit.
Audiocontrol DQL-8 which provides equalisation, and Speaker level to Phono signal conversion

Its wired so Head-Unit front speaker output connects to Audiocontrol.
Audiocontrol runs in 2 channel mode, which provides front, and subwoofer phono out.

So heres the problem. I decided to connect the head unit underseat speaker out to the Audiocontrol, so I could run the Audiocontrol in 4 channel mode.
However it doesn't work - I don't get any output from the phono's which are paired to the underseat speaker input.

The Audiocontrol is normally auto-switched-on from speaker level inputs connected to "main" input. When the Front is connected, it turns on
As a test I connected the underseat speaker output to the main input of Audiocontrol, and it won't turn on.

This to me indicated that the underseat speaker output was not working, so I connected a pair of speakers and got audio.

So, kinda stumped - has any got any experience of this?

Thanks!

Just gonna answer my own question here. Since front channel will turn on the audiocontrol, I decided not to worry about the using the underseat signal wires.

I did replace the original poorly fitted midbass units under there with a pair of MB Quarts, and now am finally happy with the sound. Next job will be to get a 6 channel amp to replace my 4 channel, then I can correct the level from the rear speakers.
