Kinda depressing that with a tune & racegas it still can't cleanly pull from that thing. I know it has 700HP but I dunno, maybe it's impressive on the M4s part Inguess.
I'm assuming from a dig the M4 would have won Actually the hellcat had the Jump on the first race and the second race I think the M4 driver said "wrong gear". I guess the M4 was faster. The redneck in the Z06 at the end was moving, lol Last edited by JoeyBananas; 06-01-2016 at 06:21 AM.. |

Tuned, stock turbos F8x's lose power at higher rpm. You are supposed to shift early in order to be in the best part of your power band.

I've killed a few hellcats in my f80 w/ fbo meth and e30 mix. Have to keep these cars in their power band, I usually shift at 6200.

I could be wrong and an idiot, feel free to call me either. But doesn't the s55 make peak power from 6500ish THRU 7500?! It doesn't necessarily "fall off" it just makes the same power. So shifting at 6200 you are not at peak power and are dropping to even less power. If you shifted at say 7200 you would drop down to say 6000ish and still be in close to peak hp. Isn't that the point? I can't speak to the power curve of the JB tune, but shifting At 6200 on a stock motor is literally throwing away power.

Its impressive that with a tune, downpipe and better fuel the M3 can be at the same level of the hellcat in a straight line

and try to shift around 6k-6.5k. It depends on what speed you are racing from truthfully. But I always try to start the race in the lowest gear I can and then shift early(6kish) from there. I usually redline first and rev second out a little further but 3-7th should all be shifted around 6kish
