New to me 2011 335d, 40K....

Great car, totally impressed with the performance! Got the service history from BMW and wanted to share with you to get your opinion on previous MX history and things I may need to still take care of. Here goes:

5/24/12 8330 miles: standard operation MP, micro filter replacement, brake fluid change

9/1/12 10,752 miles: full service oil change, (defect code B18 05 12, M57 SCR Components), (defect code 0016680100, E90 M57 Protective hose, B16 13 10)

10/05/12 11,784 miles: (defect code 1042037100 Throttle response under all operating conditions retarded / churning), (defect code 64520377MP A/C compressor drive belt (M/P)

07/02/13 18,428 miles: replaced air, fuel filter, full service oil / filter, standard operation MP

08/15/2014 27,760 miles: brake fluid change-full MX program, brake pad wear data, wrong calculated mileage/km, vehicle check, standard operation MP

12/19/2014 30,777 miles: full service oil / filter, standard operation MP

08/13/2015 37,660 miles: (defect code 11780615DE SCR Metering module permanent malfunction)

08/03/2015 37,756 miles: (defect code 11780715DE Nitrogen oxide sensor before SCR catalytic converter permanent malfunction)

I know I need an oil service at 40K, I plan on performing today. Based on the previous work performed under BMW MX, how do you forum members think this car is performing the since new? Thanks in advance!

That is lots of issues for 40K mile car, I guess I was lucky

I bought mine '11 at 27K miles, beside the A/C belts Service Bulletin and regular maintenance, everything was running fine until 71K miles, when I started to get CBU related codes. After CBU clean I got several more injector codes, so I decided to clear them and see if they came back. It has been over 2 months and over 4K miles, no codes... thank god

Mine is at 82K miles now, I know I should replace the fuel filter, I need to check the paper work and see if the fuel filter was ever replaced by the dealer complement maintenance program.

SCR issues sound normal. Gonna be a reoccurring issue I'd say, unless u mod it and reprogram haha.

I'm at 85k and the main issues were the nOx and SCR, and EGR. Had CBU and dealer cleaned it. I think it's time for me to mod this car meow.

Above average in terms of things being fixed. Nothing major, however.

They changed the fuel filter early (18K miles rather than 30K or so). You won't need to change it until next oil change (at 50K/52K miles or so.)

They've change the brake fluid twice - 1st time was pretty early since it's an every two year thing. You're about due for another flush.

SCR Metering valve explainable because it was a low mileage car - probably permanently plugged with crystallized ammonia/urea.

My track record with the 2011 335D has been pretty good. A/C belt early on, and CBU at 52K miles. Most other things were maintenance (including battery). Beyond the recalls, that's pretty much it for me and at 80K miles, she still runs like new.

But I do have a new issue that just popped up. It appears as I have the common Active DEF Tank high level sensor issue. If the level gets low in the active tank, I get an SES. Car is going in for several items next week (including a trans oil change) so I'll find out then if they will just try to clean, or replace the DEF tanks.
