Late Introduction: M3 & M4 Glendora Mountain Road

Hey everyone,

Never really got around to posting photos or introducing myself to the board but had a little extra time this weekend to cruise up in the GMR with JamesGames

Both of us took delivery in the latter half of last year and were busy modding ever since haha.

Wanted to give a special shoutout to supremepower for the amazing customer service and unbeatable prices.

Also wanted to personally thank Mike at Status Gruppe MNF for helping me out when my urethane lip shattered. You guys have always stood behind your product and just wanted to show some appreciation

Nice car, I remember seeing your car at Supreme when it was getting lowered. Looks even better in person and it's never to late to post some pictures!

Yeah, no rubbing at all with the 295s. How have you managed to keep that lip intact lol, looked close to the ground once you lowered it.

The status gruppe lip is pretty durable, but I did have an issue with it shattering out of no where for some reason haha. Status took care of me and the new lip has been perfect. I'm thinking about switching over to 295 MPSS next also

Gorgeous cars! You can never go wrong with BBS' on German cars. I just wish they would make the LM-R's in F8x specific offsets.

Having said that, I like the look so much that F8x specific BBS LM in Diamond Black is probably at the top of my list at the moment.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the compliments guys! The BBS wheels fit the F8X platform perfectly, but doesn't seem like many people opted for them this time around compared to previous generations.

CH-R Specs:
20x9 +14 with 255/30/20
20x10.5 +24 with 285/30/20

Sumitomo HRTZ III

I'm thinking about going up to 295 on Michelin MPSS next but not sure if it'll rub since it has a square-ish sidewall

Yea, if the rear offset was 5mm less or 10mm less that would've been ideal, but I don't have traction issues even with 255/275 (or not yet since i'm not tuned).

I think the F8X specific LM are also 20x9 / 20x10.. right? if so not sure why they didn't make them wider..

Yeah, it's a real head-scratcher... I'm surprised they didn't go at least 20x9.5" front / 20x10.5" rear.

Correct. But I'd be OK with running 265/285 on those LM's assuming the stock CP car doesn't have traction issues.

I wouldn't mind keeping the CP wheels, but I've always wanted to run LM's or LM-R's. And because your car looks so damn good, I think one day I'll throw some BBS' on, I've always wanted to.

Just speculation here, but since the front wheel can take a much more aggressive offset versus the rear, it was probably easier to make this just fit for F8x by reducing the offset front and rear using the same barrels. If they kept the front offset the same on a 20x9 wheel and decided to change the rear to 20x10.5 with +35 to +40 offset, the rear would have a smaller lip than the front... the only way to keep the rear lip as big as the front or slightly bigger is to run an aggressive offset as well in the rear. But yea I agree, best option would be to reduce front and rear by 10mm and added 1/2 inch width. The lip would be much smaller though. These wheels don't look nearly as good with small lips IMO, and since the face is flat, changing the spokes to concave inwards to gain more lip would make the wheel look vastly different.

If the lip size had to be smaller, I personally think LM > LMR.

265/285 is good enough for me for my street setup. I contemplated on running camber plates in front to get total camber to -2.5 front and -2.3 rear and run the 265/285 setup.. time will tell, I went conservative with the 255/275 thinking I'd rub since everyone said this setup won't fit.

LeFort One - so you're the white m3 I've seen a few times at USC. I always see you in the morning as I leave. I keep thinking...damn, I wouldn't drive that car to work with all the speedbumps in the parking structure and careless ppl, lol. I'd be too paranoid. Sick ass car, sir!
