18 year old totals an M4 on a test drive

saw this on facebook from a friend that works at a dealership in florida....pretty scary what an untrained driver can do to a car with this much power. everyone involved including the sales associate walked away.

drive safe everyone.

Sweet lord that looks bad. I can't make too many assumptions but if he indeed was 18, the salesperson should have known better.. too much power for a kid that young.

Wow, did some serious damage as well. Looks more like a bad decision at an intersection rather than losing control due to power, but who knows. But I agree, 18 yr olds are typically still relatively inexperienced drivers, so this car would be too much. Surprised they would be allowed a test drive.

Well, since everyone walked away... at least it wasn't a ZCP equipped car, or Sakhir Orange. And yeah, 18 is too young. If he was 19, it would have been fine

thankfully no one was hurt but you gotta question the CA on this one. Why would you let an 18 year old test drive an M4

Correct. I barely know the kid as far as facebook friends go but I asked why an 18 y/o was test driving an M4 and he said they arent allowed to "discriminate," and they have to let everyone test drive what they ask for. that make any sense to anyone in the field?

I honestly wasn't expecting to see that. I am positive TC must have been off if no other vehicle was involved.

No idea either, but here in SoCal when I wanted to test drive no dealer in the area would allow me to test drive the car. I'm a little older (okay I have 10 years on the kid), they still want to see some sort of proof of income.

RIP m4.
the kid is of legal age, not sure at what age would be ok to allow someone test drive a M4.

For every person who says a salesman should dictate who is allowed to test drive a vehicle there is another who is pissed off at the dealership stereotyping them and not letting them drive a car they are serious about buying.

A sales a sale no matter how old the buyer is, and the dealership has insurance for this reason. Thank goodness no one was permanently injured in the incident.

I am sure BMW makes a ton more money off of rich kids than they do off of hardcore and capable performance drivers. These rich kids subsidize BMW's for the rest of us by bumping sales figures.

Its an M4, not a LaFerrari. Just my opinion obviously, I bought my M235i at 20 right after my CA threw me the keys for a test drive. Not much practical difference.

Been done before.

I'd like to thank all parents everywhere for being fucking idiots. My dad gave me a bicycle and I'm now old and alive.
