TUC; ULF, MULF, MULF2, MULF 2 High... My Heads spinning

Guys,

I have a 2009 E90. I have Bluetooth telephone, but no Bluetooth Audio. I have the Eject box with a Snap-in adapter for a stone aged Nokia in my center console arm rest. I wanted to get some OEM or retrofit way to get the Bluetooth audio steaming.

So i started reading. And read some and more reading and some more and now i am confused to the point that i am planning to give it all UP.. This is my last try and cry for help for some info from you experienced addicts there to solve my dilemma.

So My VIN says I have

6AA Bmw Teleservices
6AB Control Teleservices
609 Navigation System Professional
612 Bmw Assist
614 Internet Preparation
615 Extended Bmw Online Information
616 Bmw Online
620 Voice Input System
633 Prep.mob. Ph. Business Bluet.interf.
672 Cd Changer Bmw For 6 Cds
698 Area-code 2
7RS Comfort Package
7SP Navi Professinal W.handyprep.bluetooth

I already have maxed out my Audio storage on the Harddrive.

So what All do i need to do to Get me some Bluetooth audio streaming?
Should i remove the CD changer and use something else instead?
Or which MULF do i need or do i need one?
I already have a blackberry gateway on my Wishlist on Amazon, if all else Fails.

thanks to all in advance. Hope someone can give me some valuable info.
All Ideas welcome

Regards
Kaputme

i would suggest a combox retrofit.. that's the most OEM way to get bluetooth streaming in a CIC unit. you can also from there add the 6FL option which is the USB in the arm rest.

you could also use an aftermarket product like a Denson Gateway but the costs to do the OEM option with a combox would be similar.

to add a combox you would need the following;
bmw combox
retrofit harness (can be made and there is a good guide on here to do so)
coding

you can then add all maner of extra options such as BMW APs, USB in armrest, media cradle.

take a look at the below;

I am upgrading my NAV from the older unit to the newer CIC that takes the combox and then doing the combox swap.

If you can get a PNP harness or even have the skill to make one the swap in its self is really easy as the wiring will already be in the boot. just a simple case of unplugging the old unit, replacing with the combox and plunging all the connectors back in.

the hard part is in the coding, but there are many people who can help you out with this and charge less than £100 (or Dolla/Euro) to do so.

i have priced to do this including the combox and usb socket for less than £300 and will be getting someone local to code it for me to work.

i have the old CCC nav as my car is 07 so i'm upgrading to the newer CIC nav that takes the combox.

09 was when the CIC unit was introduced so you should be ok.. does the controller in the center console have the options like radio, CD, nav or does it just have a menu button and a big silver wheel?

you will be looking at about 200 Euro for the combox
about 60 euro for the wiring adapter
and 100 euro for coding

Will An F series Combox work as well it says "BMW F01 F02 F07 F10 F11 F25 X3 BLUETOOTH COMBOX TELEMATIK BN2010 ECE 9244189"

I was seeing some stuff about replacing the CD changer and installing some emulator which lets you play USB and bla bla.. Any ideas on that??

Also I have the Ejectbox in my armrest, but it doesnot show up on my Idrive.

A little more intricate reading answered my first question.. Looks like the F seires Combox won't work on my E90

They are basically saying you cant have a combox because you car does not have the right options for it. This is technically correct although the thread i linked you to earlier shows one can be retro-fited. BMW would not let you fit a NBT unit but it can be done.

just get the latest part number for a Exx combox and ask for a price on it or failing that just buy one from Ebay like i will be doing at the end of the month

Thanks Man!! I might have to save some money to get a good Combox telematik BN2000..

Meanwhile i lifted up my trunk carpet and found the TCU alright, bit i saw that only 3 connectors were connected ( no connections on the blue one) i Have seen in most pictures all four connectors connected.

Can anyone shed some light ??
