BMW gift hamper?

A friend recently purchased a new car from another manufacturer ($65k) and they gave her a hamper worth about $300-400 on delivery. They also sent out hard cover art books with design photos a few months after purchase. I thought this was a nice touch.

Does anyone know if BMW do something similar?

This is my 4th BMW and the only time I got a hamper was on the purchase of the 1st one. Go figure.......

The funny thing is I wasn't expecting it and it was a nice surprise, and on the other occasions I was expecting it and it was a let down.

I've known of people receiving BMW drive days as part of the deal. Never got one of those either. Maybe I haggle too much

Anyone that buys a new M or M Performance car is entitled to a free BMW Driving Experience day. I had to tell my dealer as I didn't get mine with the M235i purchase. Chase it up with them.

Otherwise, it varies from dealer to dealer as to what gifts they give.

You don't have to pay. Contact your dealer and force them to get a voucher for you. Otherwise, contact BMW Australia and tell them that your dealer didn't do it. All new M235i owners are entitled to a free day same as new ///M cars.

Got a hamper with drinks etc...

Asked to pay several hundred for a drive day, Was supposed to test drive the M2 on the release day... Chased them up weeks about it every week i was message confirming it was still on

On the day that morning, messaged saying i cant sorry... If i wanted to test the car out "The car sells itself but if you'd like to do a drive day theres one upcomming for xxx hundred"

No thanks... Was even told i could test the M4 if i wanted to try an ///M car when the M4/M2 or an M135 which also has Straight 6 and is absolutely completely different never ever messaged back ever.

Over the years I've received a CF pen, USB stick, umbrella, free day at the driving course, a book on M cars, magazine subscription, loyalty cards...quite a bit of stuff.

But no hampers with wine...I think I got ripped off!

Actually, I always received something, just not the hamper the OP was speaking about. Purchase in Jan included a car wash kit which was probably of more use than a hamper.

Interesting news about the drive day. Will definitely be chasing that up and will report back

Good to know they might give you something. Would be happy to get the drive day or a cleaning kit.

pretty sure my previous vouchers were valid for 24 months. didn't check this last one

call BMW AU and ask for one. your record should show you haven't received one if they have not sent you one nor a voucher email. voucher not under control of dealers

I've received (over 3 cars):

- keyrings
- BMW luggage
- Moët with cheap dealership branded glasses
- some artsy book in a BMW tin box
- box of chocolates
- "free car wash" voucher at the dealership
- "free lunch" voucher at the dealership cafe
- BMW caps

I also had the "offer" to pay for the M driving day, never got a free one!

Just to clarify.

All new owners of m235i should receive a day voucher to test drives BMWs on a track?

All we have to do is contact the dealer?

Yes, all new M235i owners are entitled to a voucher for a free day. Get onto your dealers and push them to chase it up with BMW as I did.

This is the response that my dealer got from BMW Australia after my query as to why I didn't receive the voucher. Seems like the vouchers are not automatically sent all the time.

I sent an email to BMW Sydney... It got sent around all the way back to my salesman, he called me and said only M cars get those vouchers... Maybe different dealers have different processes... Doesn't look like I'll get one

Bypass the dealer. They told me the same thing. A lot of the information they provided was incorrect (servicing, warranty, insurance, driving course etc.). I find the best method is to contact the national manager of the relevant division (direct contact information is pretty easy to find).

I've PM'd you the contact details of the relevant person at BMW Australia. He can confirm your voucher if you have one.
