Mobridge M.2 Connect
Hey all,
I've been searching about this for quite a while and haven't been able to find the answers I'm looking for. Like a lot of other people, I'm trying to add Bluetooth (calls+a2dp) to my (new to me) '07 E91 w/ Professional radio (no nav, CDC, or factory BT). I'm in the US, so it has Phone Preparation. I also just found out randomly that it has a 30pin Ipod adapter installed in the Glovebox (dealer installed option). I haven't pulled it apart yet, but I'm assuming that it's a MOST connection. Looking around, it looks like the Mobridge M2.Connect may be the best value for OEM-ish BT integration. (Tune2Air on the Ipod adapter would work if I didn't want the ability to make calls). With all that being said, I don't have a ton of experience working with MOST components. Do we think that I'll be able to remove the Ipod MOST adapter/box and just replace it with the Mobridge without any additional coding? (You can set the Mobridge DIP pins to emulate an Ipod) Does anyone have any experience installing an M2 into an E90? Any thoughts, things to look out for, hints, etc? I've been looking at the DIYs for installing the OEM MOST Ipod adapter, and I'm anticipating this being pretty similar. I could pay someone to do this, but I'm hoping to do it myself. Rock on! |

Its about the same thing. if you are not going OEM. And there is no way to do A2DP if you go OEM with a pro radio. Most of these devices are added by simulating the cd changer. So that has to be enabled. And it even says that at the mobridge site. The install should not be that difficult with either device. Dension has a device to enable cdc or you need to find someone with a coding setup. Last edited by ctuna; 06-21-2016 at 10:57 PM.. |

When I said OEM-ish, I'm merely looking for as much integration as possible - I don't want any new head units, displays, controls, etc - I realize that actual OEM BT can't do A2DP, which defeats anything I'm trying to do. I will double check, but I think the OEM IPod adapter also works by emulating a CD Changer - if that's the case, I'm hoping I can just pull the Ipod adapter out and sneak the mobridge in where it was. According to Mobridge's site, their devices will auto-code the system on BMW once installed. Has any one out there installed or used a Mobridge? Thanks! |

I have seen mentioned here from Mobridge. If you have it seems like a no brainer to try it. Tell us how it goes. |
