Help/confirmation!!

Hey guys I am hoping you can help me confirm my thoughts about something going on with my sons car.

07 E92 335 and it has Cobb Stage 2 tune with VRSF Catless DP's and CP plus MPE exhaust mod. I am not terribly familiar with power delivery of these cars so here's my question....

His clutch is pretty much gone now but just after we put the tune in, the car had what i can only describe as a 2 stroke dirtbike power band.

Everything felt normal until you really get on it, then, it would hit a certain RPM and the car would take off like a rocket(yes i'm a bit nervous about my son driving a car with this much HP). I always thought it was boost that was building but now that the clutch is pretty fried I am thinking this weird power band feel may have been the clutch slipping the whole time. Any thoughts or experience on this matter would be appreciated more for my own sanity that after he pays to have the clutch replaced this power band feeling will go away. Thanks in advance!!

Get the clutch fixed and go from there. It's hard to diagnose something when the clutch is slipping. The power should be felt from 2k rpm and on with stock turbos. Report back after the clutch has been replaced.

Oh some Cobb tunes, the power band isn't like the jb4. It's all targeted at or around 4k.my buddy had his 335 flashed with Cobb and it hits hard at 4k but under it doesn't feel anything like a jb4 car

Oh ok. Didn't know that. I had jb4 when I first got my car and kept it for about 6 months. Sold it and went to Cobb. I kept the Cobb until MHD came out. I've been MHD since . So far MHD has been my favorite.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. Hopefully he will have his money together soon so we can get it taken care of then we can figure out if its the tune or the old clutch making it feel like it has crazy power band.
